Can't wait to hear what people really think after using these (hilariously ugly) things.

I also wonder how many people that end up not liking them will be labeled as haters or trolls by the apologists.

I just don't see wireless headphones trumping wired ones, particularly in regards to sound quality and consistency (no audio dropouts). And the slippery hard plastic will slide right out of sweaty ears, so I'm not sure about that either, especially in warm/humid climates.

But the functionality in Apple's ads appears to be pretty nice, which is not surprising given their marketing prowess.

Do the current one's ever pop out of your ears alone? I've never had that happen; they only ever pull out if I accidentally pull on the cord or something. So I doubt this should be a problem.

They do pop out, and they're very uncomfortable.

Those that have review units have reported that they stay in very well, even when running, and that they love them. In my opinion the W1 chip revolutionizes wireless headphones (I have the beats solo 3).

This is why I want to hear from "real people." I don't always trust the folks who have reviewed an item before it's even avaiable.

Ordered in the UK for delivery Monday 19th :)

The website hasn't caught up yet, they are still showing as Coming Soon on the product page. You only know they are available if you click through to view pricing - so I'm pleased I could get in quick :)

Yeah the app is always the quickest route for new releases.

Looking forward to hearing about them, once real people have tried them. I can't imagine how they'll remain in your ears if you're moving around.
I was thinking about this - aren't they actually more likely to remain in your ears than the regular earphones with a cable? I think my regular earphones have fallen out of their own accord maybe 2-3 times over the last several years, and that's only because I hadn't put them in properly. A far bigger problem is catching the cord on something and having them yanked out.

So with no cord, the AirPods should be pretty firm. I just wonder if there is something like a placebo effect going on with them - they are small, light, and not attached to anything, so our instinct is to think they will fall out all the time.

A far bigger problem is losing them, or dropping them somewhere hard to reach or in the way of someone's foot!

anyone know if they are available in store?

Good question.

But with the holiday return policy in place, might as well order and return if they don't work out.

Sadly I will be out of town for two weeks, or I might do just that. Guess I'll see how they work out for everyone else's first.

Ordered in the UK with a Business Team , delivery estimated 19th Dec.
First order that'd had for them in that store.

I wonder what happens if someone loses one of them? Can you buy just one? Doubtful.

Interesting that the BeatsX release date was pushed back to February at the same time they release the air pods.

These could be great, but the way Apple has been going of late, I wouldn't touch them with a ten foot pole for at least a few months. Need to hear testimonials from real world users...

This is absolutely one of those products that I won't even consider until reviews are out and people share their real world experiences with them. How do they sound, how well do they stay in, etc.

Ordered. Now let's see if they can actually make that December 21st date. It took 6 weeks for my black iPhone to get here and I ordered it the first hour. o_O

This order will almost surely be cancelled unless it was ordered with different accounts / credit cards. Apple usually allows 2 orders of new products, especially when supply constrained.

i've never had orders cancelled. In the past when apple watch came out i placed several orders and nothing ever got cancelled on launch.

Just so happened to refresh apple store page before i saw the articles.

Interesting i also immediately received quotation from Apple after leaving my email address in online chat last week.

Got them for £142 with student discount
