Are people actually buying these things vs the other tried & true noise cancelling headphones?

I believe Apple did a small run initially. That’s why it sold out. That price point doesn’t have mass appeal. Out of stock indicators creating a false sense or desirability

Bose quietcomfort 35 II..the most comfortable headphones EVER..about $200

They have been in stock on Amazon/Target here and there since launch. It really isn't anything new.

You were right thanks! I had canceled my order and was going to settle for the space gray version cause the wait was so long from Apple but Target had the blue ones in stock and I just ordered them.

Yup, I just switched from Bose QC35 to AirPod Max and am very happy with the results

Oh well, I just dropped some money and bought it anyway. I need it mainly for my video editing and for travel. Plus the gig that I just booked just paid for it so I'm happy.

You think $549 is bad? Here in Canada they are $779 CDN while the exchange rate is $0.78 US to $1.00 CDN meaning $549 US is $700 CDN. So if you buy them here you're paying $79 CDN or $62 US MORE! So F&%$ That!

This is horribly true, I got them and after taxes and all (Quebec is intense in taxes) it was close to $900, got Apple Care so it went $15 shy of $1K grand total. Not only that, comparing equivalent joba, say $100K CAD for an engineer can be $150K or more in San Francisco same company, different place. It’s a double punch.

However, I don’t regret it at all. I like them more every hour used.

Curious, would be great if you let us know how that works for you.

I use them all the time, wireless mode, final cut sessions included (not in a fully professional matter though) and I honestly don’t detect any sort of Bluetooth lag or similar complaints from BT things in general. I think it’s damn good but I’m not that knowledgeable on the audio side of things.
