Well, they’ve arrived, so much sooner than I expected to have them. Turns out the waiting was the best bit.

I’m not about to pass judgment on 10 minutes of listening, it’ll be a day or two before they’re even broken-in properly.
But my initial impressions are very favourable, I’ve thrown on some Kaleo for my first sesh and bloody hell. At full volume - obviously, thumping, but very well controlled and not overpowering bass, sweet midrange and even with all of that going on, JJ Julius Son’s high notes are coming through without distorting.
But there’s a LOT of listening to be done, across most genres - I have a very eclectic taste. So we’ll see how they go, particularly once they have been run-in.
They are beautifully constructed though, no surprises there. I’m particularly pleased that the ear cups fit over my ears, I was worried about that.
Yes - I know, they’re over-ear headphones. But I’ve lost count of how many over-ear headphones over the years have pinched my lobes against my head and/or really pushed against the legs of my spectacles. In that respect the APM are a major win.
I’m cautiously optimistic that these are going to be a comfortable wear. I’ll definitely find that out - I’m not taking these off anytime soon 😀
That case, well, jeez what can you say about that bloody case. It would have been nice to have a proper hard case, but now that I’ve actually had these in my hands, they’re so solidly built Im oddly less concerned about it. Time will tell.
