I like wireless headphones, I have a couple of Earins now, but I don't like the thing sticking out of the ear on the AirPods.

If I am going to switch to Apple, they have to be superior technically, i.e longer battery time, less sensitive to interruption and better sound quality. I will wait a few months and see what people have to say.

I have preparing for shipment but still says Dec 21st delivery. I'm sure mine will get updated before the evening.

Update:shipped, Tuesday 20th delivery date

Mine shipped. Coming a day early. I blame Tim Cook.

(Had to fit in with the average irrational MacRumors poster.

I get it. You make a ridiculous statement to mock all the very legitimate complaints aired about Apple and Cook in particular. Lame.

After going up for order on Tuesday, Apple's AirPods have now been marked as "shipped" for the first wave of customers who were lucky enough to order their pair before delivery estimates slipped to four weeks, and then six weeks. Now, many users based in the United States have taken to Twitter and Reddit to share that their AirPods shipments are on the way.

Delivery dates still vary slightly among customers, but the average estimates suggest deliveries on either December 20 or December 21. AirPods launched in more than 100 countries around the world, and a few areas in Europe and Australia saw slightly earlier delivery dates for the wireless headphones than those given to U.S. customers, with some as soon as Monday, December 19. Australia customers specifically reported shipping status updates earlier in the week.

For anyone who missed out on the first run of orders, Apple will begin selling the AirPods in its retail stores Monday morning. Some of the company's authorized resellers and a few carrier stores will also be receiving AirPods stock next week. Given how fast they sold out online, the supply of AirPods in retail locations is also expected to be limited. Nevertheless, in the press release on Tuesday, Apple said that its retail locations will receive "regular AirPods shipments" going forward.

Mine is on my way since I am in the first wave for delivery on Dec 20!! The delivery date was changed from 21 to 20!!

Mine won't ship until mid January, but I will be an my local Apple Store at 9:00am Monday to try and get a pair. I've been waiting for a product like this for a very long time.

Just today I was listing to a Podcast as I cooked with my iPod Nano 6th Gen. The cord got caught on a cabinet, jerked my ear, and ripped the device off of me and slammed it into the shelf. I know the AirPods won't work with this iPod, but having my iPhone on the table and being able to freely move as I listen will be so liberating.

mine shipped as well even though im having second thoughts

Fortunately for you, you have 30 days to evaluate them and return them. Moreover, you might make more money selling them on eBay than returning them, depending on how much further orders slip after Monday.

Even more difficult to find in the snow.

That's actually a good point, since presumably they aren't heavy enough to sink below. Some beaches will be bad for them as well. Should be an interesting winter for AirPods ...

I'm the reverse, I really dislike those ancient head vises known as headphones that made a come back about ten years ago. Earbuds are lighter and much easier to wear and wearing headphones basically say, "xxxx off, leave me alone," more than the white buds. The statement is more in your face while listening in public.

The good part of the head clamp is active noise cancellation!

I also looked at the Bluetooth buds currently available and all the ones I saw had some sort of wired connection between the two ears, kind of defeated the wireless idea a bit m

The Apple buds will fit in my ears well, just not sure I'm wanting to spend the $$ right now.

Rolling Stone likes them and gave a very positive review a couple of days ago.

I saw that they were available to order right away. Could have been in the first shipment. BUT, I don't want one of these.May get the beats x. These are too easy to lose when they pop out of your ear.

Yea I went ahead and decided on the Powerbeats 3 instead, not really a big fan of the regular EarPods and their sound level and fit and everything.

I still cannot understand why anyone would buy these as they are substantially inferior in sound compared to most other wireless earbuds.

Not only that, they are a heck of a lot more expensive too!

Plus you can lose them!

And then pay an additional $70 to replace one! Ridiculous.

It just boggles me. I have the Jaybird X2's which I got for $80 and they've been serving me incredibly well with exceptional sound, and they have a band around both earpieces so you don't lose them.

This is how the AirPods should've been, Apple.

If we wanted the "wired" Bluetooth headsets we would have gotten some years ago. These are completely wireless and more convenient. I had Bluetooth headsets since 2010. The AirPods may not be the best sounding but they will be more convenient for me.

I can listen to music and be able to take calls with it without the audio going to both head buds. I don't want to have stereo sound when talking to someone on the phone, that is awkward.
