Stop cleaning your ears and they will stick to the wax.

Apple users clean their ears. Android? Not so sure.

Thanks to everyone for the comments – so great to hear it's working for some of you! Also I've found that if they lose their grip, just give them a gentle wipe with a damp cloth to restore it.

All we need now is for 3M to market a white version of this tape and they'll blend right in. Or even better - for Apple to include a sheet of them in the box ...

    I’m finding that ear-hair creates a barrier.

Any residue left on the headphones when taking the tape off? I want to test this with my wife’s pair but don’t want to mess them up (she’s all about aesthetics so she would freak lol)

Nothing a bit of alcoholic wipe couldn’t remove.

Anyone here in the UK tried this and which tape did you use?

Greeting from Australia, thanks neighbour :)

Tried your method today. Bought the same tape from a local chemist for AUD $7. Hole punched those dots. The AirPods do feel a bit more secure in my ears now.

Ok, so the stuff from I bought from Amazon UK has done the job, nice and grippy and secure in my ears, thanks OP for sharing!

Did this trick using some kinetic tape I already have.
    Works perfectly.
    Thanks for the tip

I was an early adopt but returned them after a few day because they wouldn’t stay in my ears.

I recently tried them again using the aftermarket hooks.
They kept them from falling out but the sound was terrible.

Being winter I was able to deal with them by wearing a hat but they still needed constant adjustment.

Not so with this simple trick!

    Thanks @NewZealandMatt

Never understood why the Apple earphones didn’t have a rubber/foam contact with the ear....I only have the wired ones and they’ve got great sound but they need to be more forgiving in the ear.

I did buy some soft rubber things that go over the headphone for more comfort...they work a bit but I’ve never been able to get a great fit and and sound isolation. That’s why I’m sticking to my Sony MDR-xb80bs in the ear Bluetooth headphones.

Asked already but anyone in the UK have a similar product that’ll work?

Got this today. Just a warning that it’s a great idea and works for some but unfortunately not for me. Doesn’t help at all. Still can’t get a good fit.

I used foam covers, the ones that has a hole right through. I never had probs with the fit but find the foam creates a better seal which improves the bass.

Still fit fine in the case and shuts no problem.

Don’t get me wrong. I love the AirPods and when pushed into me ears sound great but really fed up I can’t get then to fit properly.

I tried foam covers and they do help sound but I couldn’t get them to auto connect when in my ear. Where did you find the ones with holes?
