I didn't have this but last night my phone said it was connected and that the buds were outside of the case. For about an hour. The case was sitting on my kitchen counter with both buds inside. I opened and closed the case and it seemed to fix it.

This isn’t a WFH problem per se, but rather a WFH problem in the context of Apple’s approach. Apple has two primary obsessions: secrecy and running teams like a startup. Those two obsessions often clash and produce disjointed services and products. When WFH was added to that mix, it moved from disjointed to buggy disjointed.
Its not WFH, its a problem with management. If there are this many under-performers working at Apple, just fire them and hire competent employees already.

If you can't do your job without being micro managed and watched every second of every day, that is a major issue. You need to be let go. Hire better employees.

There is NO proof WFH is the issue though. So can people please PLEASE stop saying this in every single thread for the last 2 years?!?!

Seems more & more bugs even in gold releases. Is there any reliable tracking ?? Has the Apple code base crossed into the "...too complex to be reliable..." zone ?? Unfortunately I doubt we will see another Snow Leopard effort if the latter is true. Too much revenue now tied up with "new software features" since the benefit from hardware advances re: phones has apparently reached the asymtotic part of the curve.

The WFH bias continues to be hilarious. You'd think there were 0 bugs before WFH became a bigger thing. There were always bugs and there always will be bugs. It is part of software. People working from home are working, and if they weren't, they'd already be fired.

I know! Geez this site has gotten so irritating lately. There is a reason ever since I was interested in Apple people have said "never buy a brand new product" or "never buy a Rev A Apple product". People are just ignoring the old days. This has been a thing for a very very VERY VERY long time. This is why I never buy on launch day. Since 2004. Back when the "greatest of all time" Steve according to this site was around. I have purchased new products and had issues before. But back in 2004, not every single person and their 2 year old was online.

How are people "okay" with the lack of quality control these days on apples software. Every week it's something new about a bug or glitch. And these are premium prices!!! At least in the Android world you can move to a different brand.
Nobody is stopping anybody who believe Apples quality has tanked to move to a different brand. Over the myriad of products that fit together cohesively Apple has suprisingly few bugs. If you believe paying premium prices buys 0 bugs, an S class should be perfect off the line for years to come.

While annoying, I would like the ability to monitor the battery health on my AirPods Pro without having to take them in to Apple to check. Not that it would really do much, but it would be nice to know if I should get the battery replaced soon or just upgrade to the new Pros. Not that I have the money to do that Lol.

Louis Rossmann just put out a video about Jabra earpods - apparently if you go 6 months without charging them the batteries die and they're not covered under warranty. Same ****, different company. Actually, a couple of days ago I saw the island show up on my iPhone 13 Pro Max. I'm like - yeah - they have this figured out.

I haven't been okay for years. Its not new. Apple has had a QC issue for a very long time. Which is why I never purchased brand new products up until my M1 Max and M1 Ultra systems. Even then with the long shipments I kept a very close eye on news and had my finger on the cancel button every day.

I know the feeling. I want to hang on to my 2015 15" MBP as long as I can.. this damn thing is a tank - arguably the last good MBP Apple built. But part of me wants to jump to M2...I'll probably upgrade my old 2014 Mini.

It was until the M1 MacBook Pros. I have never been more happy with a laptop! As regards to my M1 Ultra Mac Studio, I should have canceled and waited a few more months. There are a couple of irritating things. But all in all its still an amazing system.

I'm still torn between the Studio and the Mini. Honestly, the Studio is kind of overkill for my requirements - actually, what I need is an Apple-compatible NAS head/device - I don't use my mini for much except a file server and rarely remoting in for a few tasks like doing taxes that I want in a central repository. But Apple doesn't play that game.

I have a feeling this issue is because macOS Monterey, even on 12.6, doesn't have full support for AirPods Pro 2. You don't see the AirPods in the menu bar when they are in, and the Sound menu only shows you a generalized battery percentage rather than per-earbud (though the Bluetooth menu shows you this, but won't show you the case). I found an Apple support document and it looks like AirPods Pro 2 are only officially supported on Ventura or later: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT208718

I don't think it's a bug. If you bought a pair of AirPods Pro 2 you just need to buy another one. Easy peasy!

I think you may have meant to reply to someone else. But, since you replied to me, I think it is important to point-out you’re agreeing with me - the obsessions with secrecy and startup behavior are management issues.

However, there is NO proof incompetence is the issue. WFH leads to more rigorous secrecy processes, which further disrupts product development. Again, that’s not a WFH issue per we but a unique effect of WFH given Apple’s obsessions.

There is no proof either way. So why must we be dealing with this non stop "LOL THIS IS DUE TO WFH" posts in every single thread?

And Apple proves once again they cannot write decent code to save their lives. Geez, fire the head of software development, demote the lieutenants to bathroom assistants, and get some damn people in there that know how to develop software and squash bugs!!!! And find someone other than a bean counter to run the company.

Timmy should require Craig and his team to return to the office 8 days a week😉 until they can do their jobs…or tell Craig to pack his 🧳’s
In the meantime, I’m waiting for the “bug” that says I owe Apple an additional $145.27 for my iPhone 14 Pro Max🤷‍♂🤦‍♂️😉

“WFH” Apple strikes again. Hopefully they learn from this and call everyone back into the office full time. Because this year’s releases are a buggy disaster. It’s not like it’s just one thing too. It’s everything.

Okay but why are the trolls blaming WFH?? Work from home would not affect quality control and testing before shipping these out the door.
When people are WFH, they are less likely to be out and about in the real world doing a thorough test of AirPods features and functions.

When you go into the office, you're more likely to go out to eat lunch, take coffee breaks, etc. Those are great opportunities to test ANC and Adaptive Transparency. But if you're WFH, you're less likely to find yourself in places and situations where there's a lot of noise.

If you're WFH, you might be less inclined to go outside (to take a walk, exercise, run, bike, etc) where you'd be able to test sweat/water resistance (in addition to ANC and Adaptive Transparency) since you can just hop on your Pedalon Peloton and exercise indoors.

Ah, so this is what those notifications were about! This happened to me and I just clicked one that opened the Find My app, just to find no devices that needed a new battery, leaving me quite confused.
