You do realize Apple has been offering remote work for a very long time right? I applied to Apple as a senior developer and it was a remote position. This was back in 2015.

And this is not how it works. You guys are blaming work from home so YOU need to provide proof that WFH is the issue.

You must have forgotten some very BAD issues with Apple in the past. Snow Leopard deleting all my files? This is what trained me to NEVER EVER EVER store files on my main drive. Steve "You are holding it wrong" issue at a hardware level?
I have to ask, how is your system set up?

I have to ask, how is your system set up?
What system? The fact I don't store files on it? Its just the operating system and programs. I have external SSDs for the data and work. When I am finished, I have external HDDs and have offsite backups.

Is your Home folder on an external drive?

The entire world flipped a switch and everybody for the most part worked from home. To say its not disruptive is ridiculous. But to also say its the cause of so many issues is also ridiculous. We went from barely any WFH to barely NO WFH. So yes, its been disruptive but in a good way.

I have been so much more productive since working from home.
It’s not an “either/or” situation. For Apple, their obsession with secrecy and startup mentality made WFH produce some undesireable effects. Like I said, it’s not WFH per se but WFH in the context of Apple’s obsessions.

No, I don't have any files on my home folder other than the temporary files that gets generated as I work on various programs. Anything I download that I need to keep I manually move over to external drives.

Not to deter from the topic of the thread, but I’ve been considering moving my home folder to a Thunderbolt drive. That’s the reason for asking. I wanted to see if anyone else has done that and what the results were.

I have done it with Windows, but not Mac.

It's concerning that nobody at Apple even tried using the AirPods Pro 2 in a low battery state before launching the product.

They need to get some better QA testers for real.

I really find it offensive when people say if we like work from home we are just entitled. A lot of us have worked so hard to get to where we are and yes I want to enjoy the benefits of work from home. But don't you dare call us all entitled.
You’re soooo entitled. The fact that you think you worked hard to get to where you are shows how entitled, self-absorbed, and ungrateful you truly are. The fact that you can’t even imagine for a second how you could have been born into a 3rd world country, slaving away doing hard labor all your life with no real possibility of upward mobility shows just how entitled you really are. There’s no other word for it.

You’re life is so good that literally, billions of people would go through great lengths to have your “problem,” yet here you are complaining about commuting in a climate controlled automobile to work where you sit on your a** all day in an air conditioned office. That is the very definition of entitlement.

Oh get real. I went to college for 7 years and got two degrees and a minor. I have worked up the career ladder for 20 years now. Yes, I have worked hard. I have worked 60 hour weeks. I have worked 24 hours straight. I have been on calls, I have worked without sleep, I have put blood and tears in to my work. I have worked hard for where I am. Don't you dare call me entitled.

Let me tell you something, billions of people don't want to go through what I did. They want to work at McDonalds and get 6 figures. They want 6 figures without any work involved. And they complain when people like myself that has worked for roughly 30 years to get to where I am get paid how I get paid.

I don't know how working up the career ladder to appreciate what I am capable of brining to the table in my career now makes me entitled. I started at the very bottom of the barrel, worked my way up for 20 years to get to where I am. So yes, I want to work from home now. I want to get some of my work/life balance in order. When I am done working, I can immediately spend time with my family now vs having to commute after a 10 hour work day.

And really my life is so good? Do you know me, do you know my life? What is your evidence? My life is not good, my work/life balance SUCKS, which is why work from home is a great benefit. It has caused strain in many of my relationships due to my long schedules.

Interesting. I supposed an AirTag looks like an Air Pod case, if you squint, and the lighting is just right.

Another 'software issue'? I had one this morning. Spent hours to and from the Apple Store, for a *tah dad*: 'software issue'.

Pretty much. We’re supposed to feel sorry because this guy had to work. Boohoo.

Yeah, and I did the same. Schoolwork is not hard. Office work is not hard. The fact that you don’t see how having those options is itself a luxury shows just how self-absorbed and entitled you are. And having worked long hours doesn’t entitle you to work from home! You don’t get to rewrite you employment contract just as you don’t get to decide one day that you deserve 3 extra weeks of vacation.

And if you think you worked hard, try catching mice in the hot fields of India by blowing smoke into rat holes to smoke them out for a couple of dollars a day with no possibility of upward mobility because of their rigid caste system. And, you have to use what little you make to buy rice and spices to cook the mice you caught in the fields to feed yourself and your family. And because you inhale smoke all day, your life expectancy is 40+. Do that for just one month and you wouldn’t be whining about “hard work” which you clearly know nothing about.

Sure, there are lazy people. I count the people who whine about having to commute to and fro from work among them. You don’t hear those McDonald’s employees whining about not being able to work from home, do you?

Ok I’m out. I have been in 100,000 in debt with a double degrees from college. Telling me it’s not hard when we have so many dropouts in the country. I have helped people who were struggling with their courses. Frankly it’s insulting that you keep spouting “lol you don’t work hard, school is not hard”and I hope you are never a parent.

And no I hear McDonald’s employees complain they don’t get paid the salary I do. Which makes them even worse.

I find a job that supports remote work. I don’t “re write my work contract”

Again, you made those choices because you had the luxury and privilege to take on debt to go to school and better your life. You wouldn’t be insulted if you actually knew how a large percentage of the human population actually lives.

Simple fact: complaining about commuting to work is a first world “problem” that only the most privileged would ever complain about. Billions of people may or may not have access to clean water tomorrow. Think about that the next time you feel life is so hard.

McDonald’s employees who were born in this country and didn’t do anything to better their lives and complain about their salaries are not worse… they’re acting just like you… entitled.

I just had this notification pop up and got really confused and only found it now on macrumors. I‘m surprised this hasnt been fixed yet with the latest firmware update of the AirPods Pro 2? Or is it the iOS from my iPhone or iPad that needs fixing? I‘m not too keen to walk back to Apple already to deal with this. I hope it’s just a software bug…

Seems Apple hasn't fixed this yet, I got a notification this morning.
