I'm fine with that BUT I really hope they improve the active noise cancelling because it's REALLY weak compared to competition, specially the Bose QuietComfort Earbuds.Airpods Pro only reduces noises a little whereas Bose QC Earbuds ANC is similar to what you get with full sized Bose and Sony headphones..really impressive.

That said I chose AirPods Pro because sadly Bose were very uncomfortable after a while for my ears.
I'll immediately get rid of my Airpods Pro and buy the Airpods Pro 2 if ANC is significantly improved (similar to Bose QC ear Buds)

I don’t see a huge benefit to stemless. Am I missing it?

Would love a matte or silver/stainless case!
yeah I don't see a benefit either, though I do want some different design. The AirPods Pro have been unquestionably the most garbage Apple product I've ever used. I so much preferred the design and feel of the original AirPods, they fit so much better and were so much more consistent.

I've always thought this since the rumours came about of a stemless design.
.
Even if the technology exists (which it probably does); I think the stems are too much of an integral part to AirPods iconic design.
I can't see them getting rid of that this soon. Not for now anyway.
Well the notch on the iPhone is also “iconic” and apple is kinda getting rid of it with the iphone 14 pro, so stemless airpods are not something unthinkable

Am I the only one who likes the stems on the AirPods Pro? The pressure sensitive controls are one of my favorite features and a massive upgrade from the tap gestures on the original AirPods.

I agree! As they are significantly shorter than those on the original APs they are no bother, and for me they are also iconic by now.

In some use-cases it's not advantage. Wearing hoodie, you can tap AirPods over hoodie, you cannot do that with Pro.

Can they improve the microphone noise cancelation algorithm? If one brushes up their AirPods against hair or a pillow it will lower microphone sensitivity in response. Then for a while longer the person's voice will be muffled.

Also they could allow us the option to use the iPhone's onboard microphone instead of the one on the AirPods during a FaceTime call. Currently one must start a SharePlay session to have the option, but why not always?

The only annoyance with that is you have to turn the crown for a few clicks before it starts adjusting the volume. Wouldn't it be annoying if when you pressed the volume button on your iPhone that you had to press it 5 times before it did anything? The crown should be immediately responsive.
It used to work that way. They changed it in a software update probably because it kept activating accidentally. I personally had an issue where my sleeves kept changing my music volume. Maybe they should add a setting and make it optional.

Must be some tight sleeves! But, yes, making it an option rather than forcing one way or the other would've been the more logical thing for them to do.

Hard to predict Apples move as the short stems have a few functions. Hate to see an all ear model where you have to tap the AirPods for functions
