If you use AirPods as often as I do (daily), be sure to pay $29 for AppleCare+ and replace your AirPods near the end of 2-year expiration. On my last visit, Apple didn't run any diagnostics. I just told them that I use AirPods daily and its battery lasts only about half as much as before. I received a new pair of AirPods and the charging case.
That's a fantastic tip, thank you.

I bought the first gen Pro april 2020 with Apple Care+, for around 300 dollars.
I have been so disappointed at these headphones.

I have changed the case AND changed both headphones.
The problems that I have is when I pause and then press play on the AirPods nothing happened.
Then I have to take up my phone, unlock it with Face ID and then open music app and press play.
This happens 9 out of 10 times a day, since day 1.
I have tried Apple Music, Spotify and Deezer. I have reset and forget the AirPods 5 times under these 2 1/2 years and nothing happens.
Its my second pair of AirPods Pro, so in my opinion these are not so good.

Ironically I bought Jabra 65t active for 59 dollar, they sound better and NEVER drops bluetooth connection.

So I think I pass these Pro Gen 2, and Gen 3 and Gen 4...
Got mine in April 2020 also, and I could not disagree more. Probably my favorite apple product of all time, and I had the Macintosh LC III. Absolutely love them. If my original pair weren’t working so well, I’d buy the new ones for sure.

Can’t wait to buy these!

I’m going to buy the new AirPods Pro on black friday this year - Amazon usually has a lot of deals on Apple products then and they have had great discounts on AirPods in the past over black friday

I’m glad that the noise cancellation is twice as good on the new version - going to take them with me when I go traveling

I'm with you on this one. Since they are selling these at Costco, I have 2 annual reward checks/cheques burning holes in my pocket which will go to these on Black Friday, especially if there isn't a deal on them anywhere else.

Now.. if I can only get these types of pods to not fall out of my ear when I'm talking.. 😣😤

BL.

I just bought Sennheiser Momentum 4’s. My AirPods Pro’s have slightly better noise cancelling and obviously the pairing is very slick. But the Momentum 4’s kick the APP’s a** when it comes to sound quality. No contest. Plus 60 hour battery life. The only time I use my APP now is when I don’t want to be wearing cans.
I'm not surprised that your Sennheiser Momentum 4 beats the APP in terms of sound quality. You can't really compare headphones to earphones when it comes to sound quality. The former has bigger drivers, among other things.

I am happy for you that you like them.
I have heard many people saying that Airpods Pro are the best, so maybe i had bad luck. Twice😊
Perhaps i give it another shot.
Thanks for responding!

But did that make them stay in your ears and which ones are you using? I'm always using foam tips with my wired IEs, but they don't fit the APPs, so the only option is Beats Fit Pro for me with an annoyingly large case.
Yes, they stay in my ears while running now. I got the Comply foam tips on Amazon. There are other similar models but this one did the trick for me because the large original tips were not large enough for my ears to get a good seal.

The design of the new AirPods Pro ear tips looks very similar than the first generation, I'm not holding my breath that they work better.

The answer is probably no, but I might as well ask: can the AirPods Pro case be used as a speaker since it now includes speakers? :)

Why did @arn decide to stop featuring iJustine in all the new reviews? Is she not intersectional enough for this crowd?

Because she is awful and provides absolutely nothing to the viewer other than blonde hair and an overly botoxed face. She doesn't provide an honest review and is nothing more than an Apple homer as others have said.

It may have something to do with the fact that she provides zero technical or critical review points for any Apple product, amounting to little more than a shill.

This, 100%

I can't stomach her, she's waaaaay too bubbly and over the top positive.. No product is that perfect as she makes every single apple product seem. Apple can deliver a turd to her house with an apple logo and she would absolutely love it and explain how its made her life so much better.

You're right, see the review below where she calls the APP2s "life changing". Nothing about a headphone is life changing. Her reviews are biased and not really informative to the viewer.

Here she is ...

What a joke of a review.

Interesting, the sound quality + battery life make the Sennheiser Momentum 4's sound appealing. Do you find that you miss the ease of pairing from the AirPods Pro? That would be my only hesitation.
Yeah it can be a pain. Though I‘ve mostly been using them with my iPhone so I haven’t really had any issues. For me sound quality trumps all and the Momentum 4’s are so much better in that category. Of course they’re also $100 more than the APP. For me it was worth it because they sounded that much better.

For sure. Which is why I never used my APP to listen to music. But even podcasts sound better with the Momentum 4. But APP definitely have better ANC.

Mic quality of gen1's is so bad when on apps like Discord, probably due to bandwidth limitations. I really hope this has been fixed with the gen2's but so far no one has mentioned this.
This is a long-known Mac Bluetooth issue, not an issue with the AirPods Pro. Basically, when you switch to any Bluetooth headphone and have macOS do full duplex (audio in/out), it switches to a very low-quality codec. This has been the case for years, unfortunately, unlike iOS/iPadOS which do not suffer from this limitation.

The easiest workaround is to use the Mac's microphone itself along with the headphones. 🤷‍♂️ Some utilities can do this automatically for you (e.g., ToothFairy).

Just ordered some Sony XM4s. Was waiting for these reviews but just can’t justify disposable headphones… my gen 1 AirPods are down to 45mins playback if I’m lucky. Went with the Sonys mainly as the batteries can be super easily replaced so should last significantly longer.

That's insane! Why has Apple not fixed this yet?

I can and I will. My old Pros will be good enough until they no longer work. That’s how commerce works for me during what for me financially is a recession.

Has Apple done anything with the problem that some get severe allergic reactions to the Airpod Pros?
