What are we thinking?

I reckon these are the most exciting product of the year for me. The OG’s were (unexpectedly) the best smartphone accessory of the last decade imo - I bought them thinking ‘no big deal’, but ended up being a huge fan of their improved sound quality over the corded earbuds & overall convenience, portability, battery & integration with IOS/iPhone.

The Pro’s will hopefully improve in all areas;

Convenience: Pretty much guaranteed to match/beat AirPods. They should fit better in many ears, so many more people can see what we’ve all been a fan of for the last few years. Wireless charging case add an extra option for charging, which isn’t a bad thing.

Portability: The buds themselves are smaller & the case very similar in size the the OG case (when turned sideways), so they’re still very pocketable.

Battery: An area where they haven’t improved for listening, but have an extra 1.5 hours for talk time over the original AirPods & 30 minutes more than v2. This is very good news for OG owners like me, who chat for long periods of the day. USB-C means faster charging too, so your iPad Pro USB-C to Lightning cable & adapter can be shared.

Integration: Seems as if we’ll have more audio tweaks in IOS with the Pro’s? Messages can be read out now. Also being able to easily turn on/off Noise Cancellation via the stem or on the Phone means things get done more efficiently/seamlessly.

Sound Quality: Said to have been improved, with them being in-ear & all. Many dismissed the OG’s because of the poor/average audio quality. This was most likely due to them not fitting right & leaking sound. This shouldn’t be a problem with the Pro’s & I can see these selling in huge numbers because this factor may be eliminated. Having various sized ear tips adds rare customisability to an Apple product & it could hint that they’re changing their ways?

Design: They’ve improved here in a big way. Much more sleek & won’t be poking outwards as the OG’s do in some ears.

Colours: Cmon, Apple. No need to advertise this product in bright white. People know about them now....Give is colour options! (Ok, I understand Apple need to convert many still, so having them in white is smart...initially, but after a few months, let’s mix it up eh!)

I’ll use these every day, as I do now with the AirPods & get my money’s worth until v3 are released.

But just my luck – one of my ears clogged up yesterday....may need a flushing, so can’t use these straight away...gonna have to read/watch the flood of reviews & get ultra-mega-super hyped in the mean time. :p

Hats off to Apple on this one done a tremendous thing here. With being in ear which I prefer and also different sizes will result to more people finding the right fit for there ears. The one size fits all with headphones is near impossible to do for many reasons. The original AirPods did not work for me always fell out. I have been using the beats x that came with a variety of different buds. Will definitely be buying these AirPods as always wished Apple would make them in this form and now they have. With the different size buds I have more confidence in finding the right fit for my ears. Another master piece from Apple in my eyes and many people will snap these up due to many reasons the obvious reason being the original AirPods not being the right fit.
