Hopefully the new ones are better. Not Pros, but I recently went from AirPods1 to AirPods3 and from a handling point of view they are worse in almost every way. I'm only keeping them because the sound is better.

And they will still fall out my ears 🤣
To me it’s the opposite: my case falls out my pocket way too often, and I lost mine a few months ago, never found.
even compared to budget Shure SE215's which wipe the floor with AirPods
As another Shure SE215 user I can confirm this. I even have two pairs of them for multiple devices.
Connectivity issues
It is just appalling that Apple using their own in-house solution still couldn’t figure out which device I am actively using and switch audio to that source, while SE215 using much simpler logic can do just as good and rare occasions better.
Charging issues
Yes. My old (now gone) case has difficulties charging one bud as I have to wiggle it in a precise angle to let it charge. It’s annoying.
No mute option
Yeah, though I usually just hard press and works most of the time.
No volume control
I blame their design. Dunno why somehow AirPods Pro cant incorporate the touch volume control on AirPods 1 and 2 at least.

After three replacements due to the left bud being funny they’ve been fantastic! I use them a lot, I have Max’s for home use, APP’s for everything else apart from running, then I use Beat Fit Pro. Unfortunately the APP’s wont stay in my ears when running and getting sweaty.

Since I’ve got them replaced last about a year ago, the batteries are still fresh too, so I expect to use them until they die.

I think that's a much harder problem to solve.

In one scenario you might want to listen to whichever device you are actively using while in another scenario you might want to listen to a specific device despite actively using another.

That being said, without turning off my iPad's BT I cant get my AirPods3 to stop connecting to my iPad just because I walked into the room where my iPad is. My AP1 were great, but I'm not sure if my AP3 are faulty or just dumber by comparison.

I’m so surprised none of the rumors include improved sound quality. They could really use improved drivers. I mean they definitely already sound good, but the competition makes better sounding earbuds at this point. It would suck if Apple sleeps on this and end up with one of those products that rarely gets meaningful updates and ends up being incredibly overpriced and underwhelming for it’s price point. It’s so crazy since it’s such a huge success for them that they’re letting it just get overshadowed by the competition.

I don’t really care about any of the other features, but Apple please upgrade the sound quality so that it’s best-in-class when the new AirPods release! Honestly lossless support is totally useless unless they also upgrade the drivers, because the current APPs are not resolving enough to be able to even hear a difference between lossy and lossless.

An equalizer would be great (perhaps through a separate app - some earphone makers have had this feature for a while) and the ability to turn the volume app as they’re very quiet; try playing an 80s album that hasn’t been remastered..

This is one of my major gripes using AirPods Pro: I don't know which device it decides to connect to, and when my audio will cut out. I can sit in a room where iPhone and iPad are near me, and yet somehow AirPods decides I don't want to listen to video on iPad anymore and jump to iPhone despite me using iPad to listen to video.

ANC was perfect at launch. Then with every subsequent firmware update Apple made them less and less effective. I don't get what they were trying to do.

They still sound atrocious compared to proper earphones though - even compared to budget Shure SE215's which wipe the floor with AirPods. Perhaps Apple will actually make some effort with the audio quality with the next gen Pro's as they are a complete joke.

I returned mine b/c they lacked bass. I also wanted a system wide equalizer, like I have with my Sony XM4s!

Battery life could be better, but I suppose it’s okay. My take.

- fit is great, comfortable in my ears
- unless I’m in a noisy environment such as an airplane or subway the sound isolation is disconcerting
- form factor is cool
- sound is good
- don’t like pressing the stem - don’t know what apple was thinking — tapping is better
- they complement my qc 2s on long flights which to me are the most comfortable over the ear for long wearing periods

I’m sure the AP2 will be a substantial improvement.

Just bought a fresh pair of Airpods Pro ( 30% off on Prime day) to complement the existing pair (had to replace the buds because of the crackling sound) but they work well for being used every working day for the past two years.

Love ANC. Makes train and bus rides so pleasurable and quiet.

The case upgrade is what I would want. I've tried using find my with the Airpods Pro in the case and it never works - even if they are sitting 2 feet away on a table. The case itself should still "connect" and show battery status without having an airpod inside.

at least one unofficial revision. the first bunch were prone to develop an annoying rattling. had to have my first set replaced three times.

AirPods Pro are an essential product for me and I can't imagine a day without them. Apple Can introduce whatever generation/upgrade and I am in..
That’s just being ridiculous. Do your ones work? Why would you upgrade for a case that makes a sound? Sorry I really don’t get the hype statement.

Don't expect anything in the slightest bit innovative. It will be incremental updates and nothing more. This is the new Apple now, after all, so get used to it.

Agreed about ANC getting gradually worse. I don't know what the reasons are, but I also noticed a substantial decrease in ANC performance over time. It was like they decided it was a safety issue or liability concern to block out background noise too well, so they scaled it back or something. I don't get it either. Safety issue is my only guess, because if you go to urban centers like NYC you see practically everyone walking down the street or riding the subway wearing them. Maybe too people were getting hit by cars because they didn't hear them coming? lol

How about a user-replaceable battery for both the case and pods, so we can get back to having tech that lasts a decade or more instead of 2-3 years?

Please fix the atrocious call quality. Others constantly complain about background noise when I use them, and I immediately know when the person I’m talking to is using them since I can hear everything in their environment except their voice.

It is a bit surprising how long this model has been in production. But at the same time, they are so good it's fine with me. I use them everyday. I can't think of much that I'd like them to do that they don't do. Maybe improve battery life and USB-C charging case? They sound great already. I can't really understand how they can improve the fit for some users... that's challenging I suppose. Everybody's ears are vastly different. I hope they don't change the design too much.... "If it ain't broke..."

Would be nice if the newer model includes a large case so it can house larger foam eartip replacements that actually fit better to isolate noise and either a button in the case for updates or in the app.
Also, fix the ANC/TM so it works better.

I doubt we’ll be getting USBC on (apple branded, not beats) accessories mostly targeted at phones until the phones themselves move, so unless the 14 surprisingly has USBC I’d bet the new APP cases with a swapped plug will come with the 15 - and it’s not like it’s unprecedented for Apple to update the APP case without updating the buds themselves. In fact I’d actually bet they sell both side-by-side for a bit to appeal to both folks with older phones and ones who pick up the 15.

Maybe I’ll be wrong though 🤷‍♂️
