Um what? Apple sold millions of Apple Watch the very first month they were released and every quarter since.

oh yea people did buy Watch, but not in millions just because its Apple!
Sure it was still big in number, but I dont think Airpods will enjoy similar craze.

Are you paid to write these comments? Seriously?

These use Siri. No need for external buttons. All the controls for playing music, playlists, turning up and down volume etc. are there, with the additional features that no other earbuds have of doing something like 'play hits from 1985', or even getting directions like 'how do I get to the library?'

I don't know of ANY earbuds that do offer noise isolation.

They are both sweat AND water resistant. Not sweat or water proof, but I don't know any that are.

We don't know yet how they sound, but they won't be as good as over-the-ear headphones, but these aren't what these are. They COULD be the best in-ear buds, or the worst, we don't know. Don't purchase them until you've tried others to compare.

The horrors!

There are a lot of nice features too: like ACTUALLY no wires, automatic bluetooth pairing (which is a pain doing it manually), Siri integration, easier charging.

You need to see if those additional features are worth the money. To many people they aren't, but to many people they are.

Most people I know, $160 is an impulse purchase. They see something like - oooooh, no wires at all and easy charging! $160 is a GREAT price, and purchase it immediately.

Others like you, $160 is a lot, which is why you bring up how pricey you think $160 is.

Hard plastic in someone's ears is such a travesty! Some people struggle with the concept of hard plastic in their ears, as if making a point of "Hard plastic" is really worth discussing. I enjoyed reading your reply.

Bought Jaybird's X2 earbuds. Best decision ever in terms of sound solutions.

I also considered these. Although, sound isn't as important to me as Convenience is. That's why I am instilling my faith in the Airpods, being the pairing, battery life and charging pod are the selling points for me. That is, whenever they release.

Apple can't even ship a pair of head phones. RIP Steve

Tim Cook was Apple's supply chain guru even during the Jobs era. It's the trade he best deals in, and he knows it inside and out. If something isn't shipping on time, it's for a good reason, not because Cook and co. have become incompetent.

Having to rely on voice commands to control your audio is simply terrible. Period.

I'm trying to imagine why anyone thought this was a good idea.

I don't think someone constantly telling siri to turn volume up/down skip tracks etc is going to please many commuters on the quiet carriage of a train.

I want to know where BeatsX are!!

The same place the AirPods and Lightning headphones to USB-C adapters are. Here we are two months after the iPhone 7 is released and the best headphone solution is still an old pair of 3.5mm headphones with the added inconvenience of an adapter.

Yes it does look like these are going to be very difficult to purchase when they are finally released, though I hope I'm wrong.

Well of course, they've likely got manufacturing issues. Unless they've all been built, packaged and shipped, and just waiting for a firmware fix to be downloaded upon first use, they're not likely going to be here in any volume until well after the holidays. And by then, the momentum will be lost, the iPhone 7 will have been on the market for a fiscal quarter, and people will have solved the jackless problem, likely by using their cheaper, more reliable, more compatible, 3.5mm devices with the added inconvenience of an adapter.

Apple shouldn't even have announced these if they weren't ready yet.

They had to. They couldn't remove the headphone jack without introducing an alternative to the much maligned, standard BlueTooth everyone was familiar with, especially since Lightning headphones isn't compatible with anything else.

They shouldn't have let this happen, by taking steps to ensure the AirPods were ready from day one, allowing for potential problems.

I have nothing bad to say about these, you can use them while working out aswell and they won't fall off. I doubt the same can be said about the AirPods.

See. This is the second time you posted something where you have no substantiation on how you know this was intended as a smoke screen from Apple.

Show me or provide some concrete evidence depicting how you know Apple intended the Airpods would not release in late October. There could be a 100 reasons why they were delayed and every one of those 100 reasons specified on this forum are anecdotal.

Now, if anything, Apple should and could have provided the customer an apology in the least, being they did state a projected a late October release. That doesn't mean Apple owes an explanation as to why the Airpods were delayed. I am also disappointed in this launch, but that doesn't mean you have the answer as to why.

It's not what you know, it's what you can prove. And only Apple knows.

I'm using my judgement. Maybe you work for Apple. In any case you're being awfully pedantic for a post on "MAC RUMORS". Get a life

You do know there are plenty of bluetooth headphones already available? In no way was Apple obliged to produce their own. The phone COMES WITH headphones that work perfectly with it. Anyone wanting wireless probably has them and they'll be fine too. And anyone miffed at losing the headphone jack is, I imagine, not the sort to be appeased by these with the price tag they have.

I have no problem with losing the headphone jack. I don't like Apple lying about the release date though just to cover their A

Wrong. What a poor deflection of your "Judgement.". You quoted on three separate threads on the Airpods stating Apple "Lied." So again, I ask you for the third time, prove how Apple lied, when in fact they didn't. If you make anecdotal claims, then back them up with up evidence supporting this. The way I see it, your spreading nonsense on these forums. Also, if your going to participate in discussion, try answering the questions from the previous three threads you were asked upon.

I'm one that thought it was/is a great idea.

Use the Watch for most functions.

I do now.

So you think voice control is a great idea - but you use the watch for most functions??
Voice control is inevitable and I welcome it.

In crowded areas, speaking to devices is awkward and becoming more common.

In isolated areas, voice commands are more accepted such as the Amazon echo & Google Home.

Yes, the Watch has an easier way of managing BT audio controls. This is especially true when I switch between BT headphones that have their own controls in varying locations. I forget what to push or where it's located.

The Airpods will consolidate my earpiece dilemma that I didn't know that I had.
