I play with the iTouch 6

I play with the iTouch 6 every time I go to the Apple Store... it is laggy as h€ll. Sluggish device. It needs both RAM and processor bump, specially if you consider Apple brands it as a “gaming” device.

What I meant was processor doesn't matter to APPLE.

If they cared about lag, they'd stop adding bloat to iOS. Even the first version of iOS 12 was faster than what we have now. iOS 9 was like lightning on iPt6.
Cook's Apple sits around the table all day every day talking about how to sell more product. (In contrast, Jobs' Apple was concerned with making GREAT product).

Obsoleting the iPhone 6 will send iPhone sales off the charts again. It's all they care about, and the "insufficient hardware" to run iOS 13 excuse won't have them answering to 20+ class action lawsuits the way the intentional destruction of batteries did.

My 2 year old AirPods no longer last more than an hour per charge. Apple expects me to spend the money equivalent to a brand new pair to get it “fixed”.
If Tim thinks earphones is a subscription-based product that costs consumers $80+ per year, then I’m out.
That’s the dang problem with the tiny l-ion battery in the AirPods. Heavy usage and 2 years the battery life isn’t great. Maybe the AirPod 2 will have a bigger battery.

A new ipod touch & ipad mini are surely welcome news to this user...but i seriously hope Apple doesn’t just slap in a newer chip in the same ol’ design. After all these years of neglect for these two devices, a more substantial makeover is deserving. At least i hope.

I have a hunch that one of the main new features of the new iPod Touch will be wireless charging, to drive sales of the new AirPods and AirPower among young people whose parents won't give them an iPhone yet. I'd love to see an all-screen design and an upgraded camera, too. Wouldn't be too surprised if they dropped the headphone jack to spur wireless sales, but on an iPod, that would be pretty damn stupid.

Would be in case that if the car battery dies, the new car battery would cost you the same as new car.
What is strange to me that the left and right AirPod’s battery discharge on mine, is about 5% different. No idea why since I always use them at the same time

ONE IS the master to the phone

Spuring wireless would work, but it may not be an Apple wireless model with so many models to choose from in general.

What bloat are they adding to iOS? What would you like removed?

You may be right about Cook’s Apple sitting around the table figuring how to sell more products. It paid off with $84b last quarter.

I'd be happy even with a new chip in the current design, particularly if efficiency savings allow a little extra runtime!

Perhaps you'd prefer an alternative AirPod model with stems large enough to accomodate rechargeable AAA batteries?

Personally, I prefer the ultra compact and comfortable current design which would not be possible without a custom fitted tiny battery. And if I'm using them so much that they need to be replaced after only two years, then I would say I am getting my full money's worth out of them. AirPods are Apple's best product since the iPhone.

Let the iPod have a HP Jack and I am in!

You raise a good point, I’m curious to see if Apple includes the 3.5 mm Jack or not. We know that 3.5 MM Jack is no longer for the iPhone and iPad, but do they do the same for the iPod? If I had to guess, I would say it would be removed as well, just to follow a line of that tradition that they have been doing with other products already, and it just promotes more Bluetooth usage, which others may not agree with.

Either way, it’s nice to see rumors with products that have been around a long time with Apple, like the iPad mini and iPod touch that are rumored to see refreshes this year.

you can use a 9$ adapter that is always plugged to the EarPods... why make a big deal out of everything?

I really wonder how Apple will introduce the AirPower. "Well.. we promised for 2018 but here it is in 2019." Nah.. I know, they'll never mention about the delay and then applause as always.

Apple doesn’t know anyone an explanation for delay with the Airpower, nor did they release a statement _why_ the AirPods were delayed either. All that matters is if they decide to re-release the Airpower. And if they do, it doesn’t mean that it won’t be any less of a success that it once could’ve been if it was launched over a year ago. The reality is, at least Apple didn’t release the Airpower with faulty hardware, as it was rumored to experience from early on production, which could have caused the delay to begin with.

You seem to have an obsessive disorder like me. I used to notice and even get annoyed by the unequal discharge level of both AirPods. There is no cure for being too observant about these things. I was at peace once I stopped noticing.

You bought a first gen product with a tiny battery. What did you expect?

Seriously, how many times has this guy's prediction been pushed back? Eventually, he's gonna be right (one of these years)...
He’s right far more than he’s been wrong actually...look it up.

What a useless prediction.. the first half of 2019 so some point or another in the next 4 months.
He really needs to provide a more locked down date IMO.
I’m just expecting fall if i’m Honest when the new iPhones are out. Might make sense for apple to bring it all out together

I see your point but aren’t all commodities like that including your car. Everything can be divided per duration cost and it will make it seem like a subscription service.

Sure, but which higher-end (excluding, eg, cheap toys) rechargeable battery powered electronics device do you expect to last only two years?

Of course, some of the fairly drastic reduction in battery life after only two years is a conceptual issue that the Airpods probably share with other wireless earbuds that come with a charging case. The much larger battery in the charging case allows for a very small battery in the actual earbud as the latter doesn't have to last a full day. You thus start with a fairly low battery life of the earbud itself that when maybe reduced to 50% of original capacity becomes annoyingly short. Moreover, given that one might recharge the earbud multiple times per day, it accumulates charge cycles significantly faster than wireless earphones that provide the full day capacity via their built-in battery.

Apart from some variation in battery production (ie, each cell or each batch might turn out slightly different), one side might have a less restricted wireless path to the Bluetooth host device (ie, iPhone) and thus require slightly more power which results in slightly more battery wear.

I don't really see the appeal in AirPower so not too concerned with that product, but I can't wait for new AirPod's. Better sound and noise cancellation and it'll be a perfect product.
