I wish the emoji engraving was a little more open - say the key, backpack and car emojis would’ve been nice to indicate where it’s for. Not sure the usefulness of putting a cow or a heart on a tracking tag.

Your iPhone has find my built-in, an airtag would be completely useless

They will, that’s already been established. Some say it doesn’t matter but I disagree. Apple seem to have a particular expertise at making things that scratch easily. Pity.

Apple can't stop anyone in terms of how they use them but what I'm saying it is it's idiotic and irresponsible to use a $30 Airtag to protect one's car from theft. It serves no purpose and Apple has made it clear that they do not support this because in all of MR fashion they like to blame Apple and sue them even if it's the customer's fault 100%. Get the police involved if their car is stolen or invest in LoJack.

I ordered last Friday, supposed to be here this Friday. It’s been stuck on “preparing to ship” ever since.

Me too. I ordered 3 minutes after go-live. The 4 pack has been “preparing to ship” since at least Monday. The Belkin key ring finally just moved to “preparing to ship” this evening. Both are still expected this Friday but I’m still not seen any tracking info in UPS My Choice.

I ordered mine (4 pack engraved) when they went for sale. It says they will arrive on Friday, but they haven’t shipped yet…not sure if they’ll arrive on the 30th.

Apple put out a statement that they are not supporting the use of the Airtags to prevent car theft. That means you can't blame or sue them if the thief disables the Airtag once they hear the beeping.

Thought the same thing, I can picture these attached to my keychain getting scuffed to death in a matter of days. I expect some kind of film, like a screen protector / AirTag protector to show up soon on sites.

It's a tool and if it's scratches then I'm fine with that, normal wear and tear that it's being used.

$29.00 USD each Airtag (and cheaper with the 4 pack) to help you find your wallet or keys if you lose or misplace them? Both which are very important items. You think that's a lot of money and need something else free included? SMH.

If you set up a UPS account you get notifications when things are being shipped to your address almost as soon as they print the label… you’ll know your iPhone/airtag/etc is coming before apple tells you
