Strange that people will buy a product that no one needs in a pandemic - just shows you the power of the Apple brand.
Strange that someone can't imagine anyone having a life different to their own. The majority of people have not been able to work from home and utterly isolate for 14 months. The majority of people have had to go to work to make the food, stock the shelves, tend to the sick, clean up the trash, keep the power, water and gas flowing, keep the data centers alive and keep you safe - so you could enjoy the extraordinary privilege of being able to sit at home and pretend everybody else is doing the same.

Since you took the effort to lock up the Tag definition online, surely you must be able figure out that things to be attached do not necessarily need to have a hole? Or is it really that hard?
And continuing the fun on this one, they are called “Air” Tags, so the whole definition is “attached to the air/to-nothing”, no hole needed. Definition checks out.

Not really, you buy a product that allows you to attach the AirTag to the item you want to attach it to.

You refer to the iPad to be brilliantly functional, but have you tried to get one to stand up without having to buy a case?
That extra product you buy? I would call that a tag 🏷
For me, I would rather use my tile than an AirTag + Tag for double the money. Just saying.

Can you? Who is going to stop you? Is that what this is made for and will it work for a dog who likes to take off? Absolutely not.

Your ability to locate the dog will be next to nil. Once the dog is out of bluetooth range of your devices, your only chance of getting a ping is if the dog comes within bluetooth range of another iOS device thats on the Find My network. So you can figure out for yourself just how useful that would be (not at all).
In a city, why not?

Awesome. So you can lose the airtag as it moves around in your bag. These things aren't much use if they can't easily be attached to the actual items the user wants to track. Adding more than 1/4" to the total width, who is going to put one of these to their wallet? Not me.
What the heck does that even mean?

Apple only offers free engraving to their own customers, not through third parties.

It's one of their many anticompetitive tactics.
You definitely should buy a load of these... If you’re dumb enough to say that, then you’re obviously dumb enough to constantly lose everything you own!

Apple are being anticompetitive because other companies don’t offer engraving... You complete moron!!! 😂

It’s not double the money tho, is it. I have Tile, 4 in fact, and AirTag is better. But that’s fine, stick to your Tile, AirTag isn’t a compulsory purchase, no one is going to kidnap your family and force you to buy it.

And ending with “Just Saying” isn’t some kind of “Credibility Badge”

Has anyone seen an Airpod Pro AirTag case cover or something .Because now you can't track your airpods inside the case and I would love to have one attached to the case

You can still get non engraved at launch. Why are people so hung up on putting poop emojis on their air tags. People think they are “personalizing” but every Tom Dick and Jane will have poop emojis on their air tags.

Now if only apple would make a Credit card shape one I would be all over it. I would love to switch off of Tile but I need one for my wallet that just goes in a CC spot
I agree. Plus the smaller Tile tags come w adhesive so you can essentially stick them anywhere and don’t have to buy another accessory for $20. I stuck one on my remote and it’s come in handy on numerous occasions.

If I go into a theater and power off my phone, AirTag key ring in my pocket, do I need to worry about the AirTag emitting a sound?
Why turn off your phone? Just put it on silent or do not disturb. Seems like an easy fix to me IF that would be a problem.

The AppleTV isn’t a TV. MacBooks are not books. And the iPad Air doesn’t float.

But hey - pointless semantics are absolutely the most constructive and productive way to spend your time....so have at it.
People are flocking to buy locating discs that are poorly designed. Similar deficiencies can be seen with the new iMac, external power packs, distant Ethernet ports, poorly placed headphone Jacks, all coming at the expense of aesthetics.

They have been designed with aesthetics being put before function, this from the most prestigious industrial design company in the world in worrying.

Now I don’t mind what they’re called but really, these are less well designed than Tile products, the difference is a Key ring hole.

They already do make something credit card shaped; now if only it had the U1 chip...

Except my wallet is so small now an AirTag would increase its volume by 50% or more.

Yep which is why I want them to make a tag that is the shape of a credit card but say double the thickness would be perfect. Tile has that right now so it can easily be made that side. Plus there is enough extra space for the circuitry.
