That is sure what it looks like! I would not use that case if you gave it to me. Its a bad idea all the way around. I don't want any part of a case touching my glass. Especially a metal case!!
Does that rest/hold itself against the gorilla glass?
I got an email back from Karas and they said that they will begin shipping at the end of the week. I ordered a red one. So, hopefully i can post some pics and my thoughts next week sometime.
I just got my Vapor out of the mailbox. Im putting it on tonight and in a few days I will post some pics and my thoughts on it.

You need both bullets. One for your Iphone in a metal case and one for yourself.

liking the Vapor
I really like this Vapor a bunch. I have really crap service at my school and I did not see no service on my phone with the case on, and I was expecting to. I don't see a significant loss in 3G or Edge service, even in the places that I normally have issues, it isn't noticeably worse. I have noticed a slight delay with maps and mapquest in pin pointing my exact location but only a lag of about 3-5 seconds. Wi-fi like I said has no noticeable loss in speed. Also this is my observation i have not used a speed test to back any of my findings. I believe that the biggest issue people are having isn't with the case, but with the service provider. give me a bit and I will post pics.

Not necessarily true. Bluetooth signal was killed for me by the Vapor. No provider there.
Ha! Told ya we would be getting pics of your case today. Gotta say it looks super fantastic! Those guys do make a great looking product. Alumacase and Fusionwerkz have their work cut out for them.

I hope that my order from them goes out in the first shipment. Like I said earlier in the thread they emailed back to me that the first shipment should be going out at the end of this week. Hopefully Karas will deliver on what they claimed.

That is what Karas sent as a response to my inquiry as to the timetable for shipment. Maybe I will be lucky, and get a cool looking red one soon.

I want to thank thepsychopinkie for starting this thread and Ati007 for providing the 411 about this case 'cause i was pondering about other metal cases (including the one from Ltd tools http://www.ryanglasgow.com/LtdTools_i4Slider.html )
but this case is just sick looking !
I do have concerns about the fact that the case does seem to be rested upon the glass alike asleep and Kansasjayhawks ....but according to an replied email from KarasKustom, the case does not "clamping" down on the glass of the phone.
the way i look at it :
1)i do have screen protector on both front and back of my phone so scratching the glass would not be an issue.
2) i might add a super thin strip of tape/padding sanwitched between the glass and the case to cushion the shock if i happed to drop the phone.
ideally the four spacers at the corners should be the main contact points to hold the case onto the phone thus shockwaves from a drop would be transmitted from the case / spacers to the metal rims of the phone (instead to the glass rims).
I will see if what i'm thinking would be correct once i have the case in hand

I took a look, its pretty neat but not my cup of tea. Thanks for bringing it to our attention though. It reminds me of some of my more high end knives.

Well, I though I would do a follow up on my Atomic Case order. Case ordered at 3:00 am September 15th. Sent email on 17th to ask why I haven't gotten shipping info yet. Set email yesterday morning asking them to cancel my order.
It's been a week since I ordered and paid and not one word back from them in response to either of my emails or updates on my order. On their website it still says my order is processing. After a week!
I could have sworn that Atomic was on Macrumors telling us about how great their customers service is and how they respond right away. My advice is to stay away!!!!!

So curiosity didn't kill the cat, more like ticked it off. I wanted to hear what you had to say about Atomic. Too bad, I still don't understand how anodizing flakes off like on the case rapaleeman posted pics of. That is just weird.
Anodizing can't flake, as far as I know. I asked my father, who retired from metalworking, and was experienced in anodizing, and he said anodizing should scratch off, not flake.

I would have been happy to tell ya. Sadly these guys are non responsive. It's been a week and no response. I don't really trust them at this point. As bad as Element can be they always got back to me in a few days. I'm thinking they have held off on shipping and talking until they can figure out their special in case liner. Once again a company is too anxious to get their product out for sale and didn't check to see if it worked or not. The only person who had great things to say about it was, ( he who shall not be named ) I got a funny feeling I get a shipping notice by friday. I wish they would just cancel the order and save me the trouble of shipping it back.
