I like it just the way it is, maybe add a few more spots for hard drives since I maxed mine out awhile back but I do love the design

I like the case the way it is. Yet, due to the design being pretty old for Apple I think they would stimulate some sales by modifying it a bit. Maybe a little smaller and lighter. The Mac Pro doesn't need to be built like a tank. Fewer materials would also bring down the costs. If anything Apple desperately needs a sub $2K Mac Pro. I've been plugging away on my original Dual G5 for five years and unlike say the new iMac the current Mac Pros don't scream "BUY ME!". It is a classic design however and by far the best Apple Pro machine as far as looks, form and function go.

I totally agree with because having more power cables means more graphics power in windows for gaming purposes. :D
Right. Your desire for more gaming clout under Win has exactly the same hardware needs as me. It would indeed be helpful even just to separate the slots to make more room and have standard PCI power. I would like to see room and power for two Fermis or two 5890s at least. Being able to Sli would be handy I guess?

I agree with you. Although SLI or Crossfire in OSX looks unlikely but we can keep our fingers crossed and hope that the 0.01% chance of it happening comes true. ;) However, as long as they add more pci connectors, :apple: can leave the rest for us to figure out.

Also given :apple:'s great relationship with Intel, I would love to see them offer Intel SSD's as a boot drive that is STANDARD on the base systems. That would truly be amazing. I mean seriously, 3 out of the 4 new iMac systems come standard with more storage than a baseline Mac Pro. :apple: is confusing at times:confused:

Plus they have more RAM than the baseline MacPro, and so do some MacBook Pros.
Pretty embarrassing for a 2500$ machine.

Love the MacPro/PowerMac G5 design

I LOVE the design - The Monolith. I've ALWAYS wanted one but I do hear their heavy.

Considering the recent chips boosted the need for HUGE heat sync's I'm curious if Apple will select Intel chips that don't exceed such heat envelops in the future - only then would we get smaller cases.

A smaller case would reduce costs for Apple - not just in materials for production, but also for land/air shipping; especially to other countries. Right now these Mac Pro's are not so "Green".

I'd love to see the standard pricing come down to $2K CAN/$1700US: Reduced production costs could do this.

I still don't get the need to have a HUGE desktop; yet.

To me the MDD G4 was the best looking case they ever did. Not been a huge fan of the G5/Macpro case. Time for a change

Ok seems the poll has hit a plateau of approximately 31% of people in favor of some sort of redesign and 69% in favor of no redesign. So I guess we'll just have to wait and see whether Apple mods the case in the next revision in order to accomodate better features and look "better".

I’m ready for a redesign. It’s too heavy, it doesn’t fit under most desks and I can’t tell which model is what unless I boot it up or turn it around to the port side.

I’ve said this before, but I wonder what Jonathan Ive does all day? Apple’s used the same fundamental design for all their products since the 2003/2004 era. You’ve got think Ive has some interesting new form factors stored up after all these years.

I’m ready to be wowed again (original iMac, Power Mac Cube, iMac G4, iPhone, etc). The current form factors are better than 99 percent of other form factors out there, but they’ve become evolutionary not revolutionary.
