Why? You have to have Apple hardware to make this work, and seriously...how many people are actually going to want to do this? Hardly a threat to Apple's gigantic bankroll. I don't hear anyone complaining about Hackintosh development and use -- I would think that would be much more of a financial threat than some person who already owns a Mac or an iPhone and wants iMessges on that device. Who cares? This is a kludge solution at best. This is one of the times I look forward to Apple lowering the boom on Beeper.
For what? Can’t wait till Apple sues them out of business.
That was such a great and beautiful app in the early days of osx.if you know, you know

We will see exactly what happens with court. Since Apple could bury these thieves into the ground. For what?
Seriously, there is NOTHING illegal about forwarding messages from one client to another. They are not hacking into Apple's systems to make this work.
You guys seriously crack me up. SUE!!!
You are on the way to integration. All of your iMessages are belong to us
What are they stealing... oh that's right... nothing. We will see exactly what happens with court. Since Apple could bury these thieves into the ground.
We will see and those are my last words to you about the issue. Good day! What are they stealing... oh that's right... nothing.
You obviously have no clue how this works. AirMessage has been doing this for a while now. Nothing Apple can do via a court as it's not illegal to forward messages from your own device to another.
Agreed. I have a Dell desktop (please don’t judge me 😂)-and unfortunately I can’t use the Mobile Connect app as it isn’t supported. And Microsoft Your Phone is a no go too. Shame because it would come in handy until I’m in a position to go back to Apple.Step in the right direction. Love this. Wish Apple would make iMessage available on more devices
"an always-online Mac running the Beeper app is needed to use as a bridge. Alternately, Beeper will ship a "Jailbroken iPhone with the Beeper app installed which bridges to iMessage" to users unable to use a Mac."
Indeed, an elegant workaround.

I think the part where they will send you a jailbroken iPhone to use the app might cause them the most legal trouble from Apple. I can't see this lasting too long.Alternately, Beeper will ship a "Jailbroken iPhone with the Beeper app installed which bridges to iMessage" to users unable to use a Mac.
Possibly a DMCA takedown for shipping jailbroken phones? On what grounds?
