I do not like the idea, because how can you cover the camera with a sticker, if it is under the display?
Why would anyone put a sticker over the camera? If it’s due to paranoia, shouldn’t this person be getting rid of all connected devices?

Even Mark Zuckerberg recommended putting stickers on webcams and that guy really knows how to spy on people. Why would anyone put a sticker over the camera? If it’s due to paranoia, shouldn’t this person be getting rid of all connected devices?
A camera lens will always have glass covering it, so there should be no difference. The front camera lens isn’t as high end as the rear because it doesn’t need to be, and there are probably space constraints as well.Picture quality will *always* be worse taken through a screen than having a cut-out, and front-facing cameras are already noticeably worse than the main rear camera. So thumbs down to this idea.
They haven’t struggled — you’re thinking about it in terms of someone upgrading every year — some do, but that is not the expectation. What's Apple going to do after this? What more can they do? They are already struggling to justify upgrades the past three years. There's going to be a massive cooling in the smartphone market, which has already begun.
literally thousands of enhancements and updates both hardware and software wise that they can still do... Just look at all the things Android phones can do which iPhones still don't do. For example one that I am personally waiting for is true multi-tasking where you can run 2 apps at the same time on the Max/plus size phones at least...... And even though this is a software feature.... You just know Apple will make it exclusive to the new hardware when they release it.What's Apple going to do after this? What more can they do? It wouldn’t make sense for the camera to be underscreen but still have cutouts for the Face ID sensors; its going to be an all or nothing situation. I suspect Dynamic Island will still exist for things like Live Events, but not be always visible.Meh. I just want faceID under the display. The selfie cam can stay as a hole punch and I'd be happy.
Probably none of this is happening soon enough to save me from the dynamic island but at least the 16 Pro/Max are getting larger so the dynamic island cuts off a lower percentage of the screen.
iPhone Water World.Apple shrinks Dynamic Island in 2025.
Dynamic Island disappears in 2027.
Apple will say "the Island is sinking due to climate change" and then market the iPhone 19 as their first 100% sustainable iPhone.
So no iPhone Pro in 2026, got it.Before Apple uses the perfected under-screen camera technology, it is expected to adopt under-panel Face ID technology in 2025's iPhone 17 Pro. This is expected to be Apple's last premium model to include a circular cutout for the front-facing camera. Apple will then adopt the UPC in 2027's "Pro" iPhone models
DI can be easily replicated via software only... I'm sure its here to stay for a long time.😱 Oh no! Don't take my Island away! 🏝️
Hopefully when or if Apple implements this that the quality will not be a comprise. Honestly, if it’s a quality compromise, then I don’t want it. Can’t return to the crappy camera of the early 2000s.I prefer the OnePlus 7 Pro implementation regarding the front facing camera, although that does not use Face ID...
Many Chinese phone manufacturers have tried the under display front camera but the output is like photo and video taken from early days of the smartphone as we know it [late 2000s to early 2010s]
Maybe they can call it “Climate Change Island”, because it’ll reveal or hide itself (“sink below the screen”) depending on activity (i.e., climate activity).I wonder if they will still use a Dynamic Island type pop-up showing various app functions etc. Obviously they may change the name, but I really like DI, and now that it’s a standard across all new iPhones maybe the app developers will continue to develop it.
Dynamic Island isn't going anywhere. It just won't be visible when it's completely idle.Dynamic Island, we hardly knew ya

My guess is that the dynamic island will stay, but it will come out of nothingness and could disappear completely unlike the current one.Dynamic Island, we hardly knew ya
