I actually have now got hold of a 6 plus to try it out for a week. Still have the 6. Going to have to keep 1 only.

First impressions of the 6 plus:

Pros:
- large gorgeous screen
- battery!
- landscape mode and other extra features for the plus are actually useful where they exist
- OIS is actually noticeable in low light pics
- keyboard is I easier to type on

Cons:
- doesn't feel like an enjoyable experience to use. Doesn't feel natural. Too big to use with one hand and there are actually so many situations where I miss one handedness.
- big one for me - using it in bed is hard. Can't read iBooks with one hand without struggling. Responding to a message or something is cumbersome and requires too hands with hinged up shoulders.
- doesn't fit into a pocket comfortably when sitting down, squatting to put on shoes or do laces etc. day to day stuff
- too much of the software is still not optimised for the 6 plus. Where it is optimised though it's awesome.

Where to from here? Give it a few more days, at least 5 days and see if things improve. At the moment, the joyful experience of using the 6 is still more appealing. Is it appealing enough to sacrifice battery life, screen, and OIS? Still need to experiment and see.

You need at least a week to see if you adjust. It may mean adjusting your typical way of doing things, but I found once I accepted that I needed to rid myself of some habits, it became easier and now I love it. The battery was the point that really forced me to test the device integrated into my daily life.

Yeah, it took a good week or maybe more before I was convinced that I should keep it. It's a bit of an adjustment. I won't say the Plus is for everyone, but I also think some people don't give it quite enough of a chance. I would just use the Plus for a while without going back and forth with the 6, because that'll make getting used to it harder.

I'm just coming from using a 6.44 inch screen on a Sony, so you can get used to using a bigger device, even one handed at times, if you give yourself a chance. I have pretty small hands for a dude as well.

I’ve had my 6+ for a week and love it. The phone won’t bend if you take care of it – common sense. The battery life is noticibly better than the 5s. The screen quality is nothing short of amazing.

I was very concerned that I wouldn't like the plus even before I actually received it from the pre-order. Once I got it, it only took me a couple of days to get used to the feel of it. I usually use the phone with two hands anyway so I use this one with both hands. I really like everything about the form factor.

What I don't like about it, is the stutter and the lag. Some apps will kind of stop and switching back and forth between portrait and landscape can really lag. This is the first time that I've been frustrated with my new iPhone. I'm hoping that the next software update will take care of the problems.

I have the iPad Air and still use it all the time. I do find that I don't bring the iPad with me as much any more and primarily use it at home.

I haven't noticed any stutter or lag in performance with my 6+. I’m so used to the larger format now. When ever I look at my wife’s 5s, her phone looks puny.

;)e
All of this definitely helps. Thanks guys.

Can't believe I'm doing this but I'm going to add *just* one more question again lol.

- if you have an iPad or plan on getting one, where do you think that fits in with your 6 Plus? Is an iPad Mini pretty much defunct now? Is there still use for an iPad Air? Or can you get by with a 6 Plus as your primary and only mobile device (if you're a power user?)?

All my answers about the 6+ are pretty much the same as everyone else, so I'll just concentrate on the iPad question. I do have an iPad mini and I still use it, often. There is a considerable difference in size between it and the 6 +, and I find the mini preferable when viewing videos and at other times when a larger screen is desirable. Since I watch video (tv and movies) while doing cardio at the gym, we are talking daily use.

I did hand my iPad Air down to my daughter and sold her 3rd gen retina iPad. I really don't miss that size at all. But for me, there is definitely room in my life for both the 6+ and the mini iPad.

You definitely need to give it more time. I use mine in bed often, although for books I prefer the kindle... Much easier on the eyes.

First few days with my Plus I was unsure, thought it was far too big for my crazy life. Fast forward a couple weeks and I've grown to love it! The battery life is amazing as is the beautiful screen. Yes it's bigger in your pocket but doesn't bother me one bit. At first I wished I ordered a 6 so I wouldn't have known what the Plus was like, now I'm happy I went with my gut and got the big dog.

Am I worried about it bending? Maybe a little. Don't really care if it does because I got a square trade warranty.

Same exact thing here. I even almost exchanged my plus for a 6. But now, I love my plus.

Did you end up keeping the 6+ over the 6?

I've been using an iPhone 6 since launch day and have loved it, coming from an iPhone 5. But I've been considering seriously going for the 6 plus as much as I love the 6, mainly because of the added battery life and because I might fall in love with the added screen estate.

But before switching to the Plus, there are a lot of factors playing around in my mind that are clouding my judgement here. Any feedback from other actual 6 Plus owners would be really useful, those who have been happy as well as those who haven't.

Anyway, these are the issues floating around in my mind:

- is the battery life on the iPhone 6 plus actually noticeably better than the 6 or only marginally?

- seems like a lot more than 9 people have found their phones bent. Those who have had a 6 plus for a while now, how's it holding up?

- is there anyone who has tried both the 6 and 6 plus and chose the 6 plus over the 6, or vice versa? Why?

- Is the lack of one handed use something you can get used to after a week or two with the 6 Plus?

- if your phone did bend from normal use, was it straight forward to get a free replacement from Apple?

- how do you get by in certain routine situations with a 6 Plus? Eg jogging, at the gym, cycling, lying in bed, when drinking coffee with one hand?

- is there any slowness/lag/stutter with the 6 plus compared to Apple's standard buttery experience?

- if you have an iPad or plan on getting one, where do you think that fits in with your 6 Plus? Is an iPad Mini pretty much defunct now? Is there still use for an iPad Air? Or can you get by with a 6 Plus as your primary and only mobile device (if you're a power user?)?

Thanks in advance for your responses.
I had my doubts getting the 6+. I have to say Apple proved me wrong. The 6+ is 10 times better than what I expected. I took me about a day to get use to the size. As for bending I've been squaring bending kneeling with my 6+ in my pocket no issues.

I'm going to be picking up a 6 or Plus next week so this thread has been great.

For what I use my phone for as it stands (social media, youtube, web browsing and the occasional game here and there), the Plus definitely ticks all the boxes.

I've had a S3, N4 and N5 before coming back to my current 5S so I'm familiar with the 6 in terms of size.

I've held both devices a few times now but I don't have the largest hands in the world so while I can totally hold the Plus and do stuff with it, I found myself having to shuffle down the phone to reach the home button if using one handed. Does anyone have to do the same?

With the 6, I don't really see it as a true upgrade given I've had phones that size before - been there done that.....

I always envisioned that I'd go with the 6 for the ease of use but I'm really tempted to give the Plus a go but's its taking that leap I guess into Phablet territory....

Really stumped so any thoughts from the Plus owners would be appreciated.
