I mean in general.
One of thereasonsn I changed to a Mac is because the OS is better than Windows and while there are still some things that annoy me, it i still better than Windows. But it seems OS producers seems to much around far too much with the way the OS looks.
We will see what this new Os is like, but if it is not possible to disable the AI stuff then I am staying put.
I never used launchpad, stuff i use all the time I stuck on the Taskbar. But I suppose it depends on how you use your Mac.

Oh that's right, now MBPs have mini LED displays.
But no, they are nowhere close to OLED quality. If it was a Micro LED display, then I'd agree with you, but simple mini LED has that glow that goes well beyond those parts of the screen that should be illuminated, and that for me is just a no no.

Is this for real? You mean, real, actual HDR as in HDR10 or DolbyVision? That would be a first in any OS UI, and I'd be eager to check it out.
HDR ≠ OLED
HDR is a localized screen brightness effect that can be achieved with other display technologies.

I suspect that you were far from alone – and whilst Apple has been naming its operating systems after Californian landmarks/geographical features since 2014, maybe they intended Golden Gate to include the bridge as well.
The most famous (man-made) landmark in the Firth of Forth where I live is also a bridge – the Forth Rail Bridge, another wonder of civil engineering from our industrial past. There are two more recent bridges nearby, but neither of them comes close to the marvel that is the Rail Bridge.

I know it isn’t as easy to notice, but I’ve seen HDR on the display of an M5 MacBook Air, despite not having direct local dimming. Sure, it is subtle, but it is there,

Haha, yes indeed—form over function now being communicated in the icons too. Are the gears in the Settings icon made of glass now? That could be taken as a subtle message that Apple acknowledges the decline of their software quality. 😊
Am I the only one who thinks Apple is gaslighting us with this slider? Doesn't seem to do much at all.

"New rugs and curtains" change – I can see that. I think my own concern with Tahoe was actually predicated on that; Tahoe itself wasn't really a "new design" in the sense of a makeover – the ingredients were already largely carried over from Sequoia, and all the more dramatic changes struck me as the result of someone thinking "this is supposed to be a new design, but it's not changed enough." The result seemed like more changes for no serious reason. And that seemed dangerous, markedly the instinct of other companies when they're confused; not of Apple.
The keynote's spotlight wasn't on this, but it looks like Liquid Glass – the impressive virtual material itself – might fulfil its role in Golden Gate, actually appearing and animating in controls and moving and morphing there as in iOS. That's potentially visually cool and aims to mean something specific and consistent.
Incidentally, I think having strong feelings about the Mac isn't something to apologize for. It's pretty remarkable how we're all here, seriously digging into discussions, because we all care so much about these details and have articulable thoughts about them.

Thanks for the screenshot of the sidebar in action. I had seen references to it but had not seen it. Yea something needs to be done, like a meditation on the exploration of a pixel dilation in the order of creation!
I never liked the disappearing slider approach either as when you needed it it wasn't there and I don't like hiding UI elements like this, imagine your car steering wheel only appearing when you need to turn left or right, and then this one time it doesn't!

It seems to affect other elements a little more, but frankly moving the slider to the right needs to make it even more opaque.
Compared to the Tahoe, moving the slider all the way to the right doesn't seem any more opaque than the Tahoe "tinted" mode, though the blur does seems to be a touch greater in Golden Gate.
So basically, in Golden Gate you can get less opaque than Tahoe, but not more opaque.
I also understood why there's an invisible drawer of blurriness in which the control center widgets live.
