A 45mm is a massive watch. It looks oversized even on man with big wrists, even though it may not look ridiculously big. Few people can rock a big Panerai without feeling uncomfortable or look silly. If you now jump to 49mm on a tick watch as an Apple Watch, the % of people that can actually wear it without turning heads around are even less. Until now, all Apple Watches could be used as a dress or sport watch depending on the strap. With a 49mm size, I can't see how it could possibly be a dress watch (again, without looking silly wearing it), unless you have the wrist size of Arnold Achwarzenegger. I would expect the 49mm size to come only with its own sport-oriented straps and would be marketed as a professional sport watch (forget about stainless steel or leather straps). We may also see specific straps with built-in battery for even more demanding professional users, that may want to get lost in the mountain for 3 days without the need to recharge.Right. And I hate to repeat myself but again, anyone who can wear the 45mm currently fine should be able to also wear this. Going from 45mm - 49mm is not a massive comical leap.
If I don't see Craig on a surfboard wearing his new Apple Watch Pro, I'm gonna be pissed.I'll bet the video for this will be cool. Apple can do good vids. Sports theme, no doubt.

Tell that to the women that use them. The key word is use... it's not for going out to dinner. Is a Jeep a man's car?Unfortunately these are mens watches.
Of course it is may opinion. Same as yours. That's why most watch brands have undertaken market survey and researches to determine the ideal size based on customers preference and taste. If you look at Chrono24 website, only 10% of the brand new watches on sale are more than 45mm in size. So, the vast majority of people (90%) clearly prefer something smaller than 45mm. Yeah, these 10% that prefer bigger watches are definitely many people, but not compared to the total target audience. This is your opinion, one not shared by many.
