What's the deal with people wanting that small of a phone? Don't you want decent screen real-estate?
For what? My 4" SE has decent screen real-estate for my purposes. How exactly am I missing out by not having a 5.5"+ screen?

How does that not give the appearance of a budget device? One is free, the other is $15 x 24 or more months. Lol
So who's nuts? Apple for setting the price or you for buying it? ;-)
I get your feelings of bigger phones. But thats what consumers want. You also have to take into consideration that these new iPhones will be bigger screen, but virtually no bezels.is anybody but me bothered that smartphones such as the Apple line are getting bigger all the time? They're getting clumsy, harder to hold comfortably. A woman can always drop a large one in her purse, but it's not so easy for a man. Either you have to be lucky enough to have a pocket big enough to hold it or carry an awkwardly large holster. Are customers really screaming for bigger and bigger phones and I've happened to miss their shouting, or this is some self-indulgent enthusiasm of design teams? I'm not sure of the correct answer, but I would be anything but surprised to find out it's the latter. My iPhone X is as big as I'm willing to go, I could comfortably go ago back to my smaller iPhone 8 or probably even earlier models. I certainly wouldn't want anything bigger.
And, of course, if Apple keeps screwing around with dimensions this causes a cascade of secondary problems. Every time I upgrade I have to worry about buying a new protective case or even battery case, a docking or recharging system that works with it, and so forth, and sometimes this adds considerably to the total cost of an upgrade.
This time around, the new iPhones are going to be appreciably bigger. I've yet to hear of ways in which they are sufficiently better to justify yet another upgrade. I've decided to stick to the one I have now until Apple offers me what seems like a significant improvement in function or usefulness, not just a change for change's sake.
This time around the Reality Distortion Field is going to have to work overtime.
I am. Still a c makes no sense for lcd. How does a c mean lcd to you? Nobody would think this.
I was responding to your ABSURD post that a publicly owned company (meaning FOR PROFIT, and owned by others), should... in your ridiculous opinion- forgoe profits for an entire year & sell their products at 1/2 price.
Here in reality- their many, many, many thousands of investors would be in an uproar, as buying their stock is basically “loaning them your money to hopefully grow for you”. The entire board of directors would flip out. Literally anyone remotely involved with such an insane & preposterous idea would be axed. All investor confidence would be lost. I can scarcely imagine all the ramifications- it’s simply THAT inane!!!!
The childish-thinking reason you gave of “they can afford it” was so silly I really thought you might pick up on the absurdity if I made a pretty direct comparison- like if they can afford to sell products at 1/2 price & make 0% profit for a year, should they? I dunno... should you pay double at the grocery for a year, just because you can afford it?
It was a (I thought) VERY simple thought exercise to kick in the old “critical thinking” skills!!! =)
I’m at a COMPLETE loss as to how to to you the simplicity was lost, & it came across as some confusing idea or “gibberish”, lol.
If you don’t get it now- I genuinely give up!
Your “idea” was a self-serving pipe dream, in no way steeped in feasibility or reality.
The end.

These naming conventions are getting a tad ridiculous and reek of "what the hell are we doing?". Did they not sit down many years ago and nut out a scenario of how they may name these devices as the iPhone family tree thickened? You know, one that kinda made sense?
Thank you for your long-winded response just to provide your unfounded views.
If you were truly another fanboy, you’d know that their units cost Apple approx £250, thus meaning, they already are in profit if they sell their products at my suggested price. In any case, your outbursts are not justified for my thoughts. If you wish, you may respond, however please be respectful in all your replies. Thanking you!

R&D inclusive, costs Apple £250.What about the millions they spend in R&D? Design and create machines to build their devices? iOS software development? Packaging and shipping?
I'm taking a wild guess here, but I also guess the top execs at Apple are on more than minimum wage.
A single iPhone doesn't cost Apple £250.

Because it’s not nearly just a cell phone and some people have disposable income?
1) iOS...works with my other Apple devices flawlessly.2 questions:
1). What does the $1000 phone do that the $120 phone doesn’t that makes it “not nearly just a cell phone?” I mean I’m not comparing a flip phone to an iPhone.
2). When you say disposable, you mean just throwing money away?
I mean I have cash to use on other things. In fact I have about $880 to use on other things at this point.
You’re aren’t very good at this making a point thing. The first thing you need to do is read. I’m talking about a $120 iPhone SE. so points 1,2,4 are completely useless. The camera point is negligible. While I don’t have portrait, or bokeh effect, I don’t need it. My phone takes great pictures. That isn’t worth $880 to me. But since you didn’t read my post and added a bunch of points that were useless, I’ll go ahead and accept your apology. Thanks!1) iOS...works with my other Apple devices flawlessly.
2) Security and Support.
3) Better cameras than the $120 phone, literally replaces my camera in most situations and does so admirably.
4) Speed, ease of use, longevity
Let’s not act like $120 Androids compete with an iPhone X in any real way. It’s like saying a Kia is 99% a BMW because it’s transportation on 4 wheels. Sure, you can find a touchscreen phone that runs Android, surfs the web, and checks mail...but it doesn’t do it like an iPhone and that’s worth $800 more for me. $800 isn’t really a big deal even if it just replaces my DSLR.
You might make an argument that a higher end Android phone starts to compete with iPhone from a hardware perspective, but then you’re spending $500-$1000+ anyway and it runs Android...I don’t want Android.
My point wasn't just a response to you...there have been many others touting the cheaper Android models as alternatives. You’re aren’t very good at this making a point thing.
