Under or over 3 gigs of ram?
Target has the mini 4 128g back to $249 after Christmas. It’s tempting to move up from a mini 2 but for now I am going to wait it out in case the mini 5 hits with the right stuff.
This is one I will queue-in on day one.
Love my two iPad Mini4s used purely for consumption, and for trips across the pond.
This and a pair of iPhone SE2s will round up nicely my post-Christmas shopping of things Apple.
Not that Cook deserves it/s
Kinda hard to gauge how legitimate this leak is with it being such a large and crisp photo. Don't worry, though, I can attempt to enhance it.

iPad mini in a pro-ish body... yes please!
For any iPhone or iPad that will be released next year, 4GB should be the minimum.Under or over 3 gigs of ram?
lolSorry to disappoint everyone, but that’s not an iPad Mini case.
That’s the case for the new, larger iPhone XSR Max.
Personally, I don’t see the point of Apple releasing the iPad mini 5 without pencil support or what I would call the minimum of RAM any new iPhone/iPad should have in 2019, 4GB. Of course, Tim may $ee a point.I literally just picked up an iPad Pro 2017 as I wanted Apple Pencil capabilities with the odd bit of typing. Do you all think it's likely the new mini will support Apple Pencil and not be gimped with 2GB of RAM like the budget iPad?
Probably just a typo, but the headphone jack cutout is indeed at the top. Interesting to see if the jack really is going to be there if at all on the device.
I bet the cutout on the side is for a SIM slot and not a smart connector.
Either way I might be interested in this as a replacement for my 2015 iPad mini. Still fully functional but battery lasts only about 48 hrs on standby or about 3.5 hours of use.
Its very unlike apple to release new headphone jack devices after removing it on new high end devices for so long.

Extra RAM isn't free. It is a constant drain on the battery and the Mini starts with a smaller one.Personally, I don’t see the point of Apple releasing the iPad mini 5 without pencil support or what I would call the minimum of RAM any new iPhone/iPad should have in 2019, 4GB. A cutout for a smart connector (pogo pins) would be pointless -- whatever connects to it needs to sit flush. A cutout wouldn't help at all. Imagine a cutout for the pins on the side of the last gen. iPad Pro. Still couldn't connect a keyboard...Has this been true for other cases? Seems like an intrusive feature for something that rarely gets accessed.
