Thats a good spot, looking at one of the pictures it looks as though something is routed there from the bottom. Would gripping or covering the logo not effect the signal though?

antennagate 2.0 lol

i like the harsh lines of my 5S. idk how i feel about rounded. although i like my iPad, and i'll buy it anyway i guess

Lol. Have you seen the iPod touch lately? It features the same design as the iPad mini and iPad air, and it was available in stores even before these devices were announced.

And you reiterated what I meant by my post. Meaning if what is pictured is in fact an iPod and not an iphone, we can expect the iphone to be very similar. (If these photos are real in the first place).

So...

Not real

It actually looks pretty real. I'd buy one. What would be the assumed vertical dimension if the horizontal is 2.6 inches?

This isn't anywhere near real. Look at the amount of space between the home button and the lightning port. There isn't enough space between the home button and the lightning port for a button that requires a spring action. The ONLY way this would be real if the thickness between the lightning port and the home button remains that same as the current iPhone 5s.

Also, look at the plastic surrounding the iPhone. There are air bubbles on the screen AND around the screen as well. It looks like someone just photoshopped the air bubbles on the screen and forgot to clean out the air bubbles that weren't on the screen at all.

Some people still arguing it's an iPod Touch? As others have pointed out, it clearly says 'iPhone' on the back. Secondly (surprised no one else has mentioned this yet) Apple always introduces major changes to the iPhone first. If they are going to introduce a larger screen, you can be sure the iPhone will see it first, and the iPod Touch may or may not see it later.

Probably a new ipod touch

Not too sure about that since it has the metal ring on the home button signifying touch id. Considering supply constraints on the fingerprint sensor, I don't think Apple will bother with touch id on an iPod touch.

Is it possible to simply have a plastic Apple logo, rather than a plastic band? Maybe that's how it is all metal...
First of all why on earth wouldn't they have done that before. Secondly, and more importantly , how would the human body (being the hand) not interfere with the signal?

You argued that if it's an iPod touch, the iPhone would probably get a similar design. The iPod touch has had a design similar to this for almost 18 months now, so you're reasoning is incorrect.

The iPod touch already looks like this, so if these photos are an iPod, then it's almost the same as the current iPod, not so exciting.

The asymetrical top/bottom bezel make it look fake. Since the first iPhone the symmetrical bezels have been a staple on iPhone/iPads.

I remember someone from Apple once explained the bezels where identical in size for consistency when using landscape. Can't remember who.

Also the home button ring seems raised instead of flush with the rest of the front.

Have you got an iPhone 5 or 5S? If so put your fingers over the bands. You will see that if you repeat the test over and over again there is no correlation between the placement of your fingers and the signal strength.

It looks quite attractive, but like it would be absolutely horrible to use ergonomically :-( And thinness over battery life again.

They don't sacrifice battery life for thinness. They make them thinner only if they can retain the same battery life, which in their eyes is fine for a device like that. Granted everyone wants a battery that will last days, but that isn't possible yet. Why sacrifice making a device thinner for a battery that will last 15-18 hours instead of a normal day's use of about 10-12 hours. You will charge it overnight in either scenario. Thinness while retaining a day long battery life is always optimal decision.

I like this theory. That would be a very slick Apple-like solution.

Or, could the case itself act as an antenna/transmitter?

Says iphone on the back. Has the LED flash from 5S it's defo an Iphone.

Yeah, I was in the case details instead of the obvious name branding.

Well, if this is the new iPhone, it is essentially the iPod Touch revision as well.

Looks alright, truthfully I'm getting bored with Apple mobile products, I want something brand new and innovative. I was excited for the iPhone 5, unimpressed with the 5S and truthfully not looking forward to an larger screen iPhone. My rule is if I can reach the top and bottom corner with one thumb without loosing grip on the phone I might as well have a tablet. Something like the S3 and beyond is too big for my liking, Apple would have to weave some crazy magic to tickle my "irrational purchase" bone.

The iPod touch has an edge to edge display already?? I need to get into an Apple store ASAP to check it out.

So you're saying, what's pictured on the first page is what the current iPod touch looks like? Anyway, this discussion is over since it's been pointed out to be an iphone. Good day!

Wow not only does this look believable, but it also looks amazing!

I would love a homogenous rear shell (made of one piece, like the 5C or iPod Touch), but I can't imagine how they figured out to transmit all that radio through metal. The top and bottom bezels are tiny, while the side ones are non-existant. And the whole thing is a lot thinner too. A huge improvement!

Would be nice if this wasn't fake!

If I had to guess, I'd say this is real. Every year around this time we get leaked parts and every year they are accurate. Looks good.

same size as current iPhone with bigger screen

like many people on this forum I am getting that this phone is the same size as the current iPhones while including a bigger screen 4.7 inches by my calculations... I hope this is the real deal... would be nice to have a bigger screen in a small body. maybe those who are getting a bigger dimension off of this are right as well, could be both the 4.7 inch and 5.5 shells.

Hmm...

Probably just me, but the top and bottom bezels being different sizes is extremely bothersome. But then again, I said the same thing about iOS7 and now I love it

I like the iPad Air/Mini roundness and look. Depending on what the black version looks like will drive me toward it even more but what am I talking about, I had already planned to get an iPhone every two years no matter what it looks like. I don't want any other phone but an iPhone. Period. :apple:
