These look legit... But thats scary. If I see those ugly antenna lines at an apple keynote I'm digging a hole and getting in...

----------

Why can't people understand, that apple can fit a dual led flash in a circle shape. It's called innovation.

No! I like the "pill" shaped one... Its sexy.:D

----------

Bigger screen + thinner shell = minimal if any battery life improvement. Why Apple. Why!!!

How do you know the battery life will suck? What if apple just works some magic and can have FULL day battery life in there? Don't judge stuff before its real

Apple has patents involving fusing metal with other alloys that have different characteristics such as being radio-transparent and possibly non-conductive. Materials can involve Liquid Metal, Sapphire and other weird ceramics/metal alloys.

While Apple has a lot of patents on stuff that they may never use in a product, they sure spent a lot of energy experimenting with those materials in the last few years.

The antenna breaks on this shell seems to be perfectly fused with the rest of the casing, I don't think plastic could've provided such a seamless surface. It may not be pure Liquid Metal, but it may well be some new kind of material.
A metal is very unlikely to be radio transparent. The problem is it's electrical conductivity. The better the electrical conductivity of a material, the less likely it is to be transparent (in any part of the electromagnetic spectrum, but especially in the lower frequencies). Ceramics or Sapphire however, why not. But not liquid metal.

I am sure Apple wouldn't have the separations in the back if they were able to but there are antenna engineering problems that get in the way. That's why I think most concepts look unfeasible.

Apple it seems are not going to release any new hardware including the Iphone 6 for quite some time I think. I have been watching and analysing the rumours and what little facts there seem to be and have come to a conclusion. That is that I think Apple were going to release the Iphone 6 but ran into problems and ditched it. Instead delaying it till early next year and earliest. I see the parts and rumours as just that. They are parts made by Chinese firms and basically just knockoffs of design rumours and "so called" leaked schematics etc
I see that things have gotten too much for Tim Cook and he is just letting things slide further and further away from him.
At best, even if your totally blinkered, the best you can hope for is that everything gets released at the end of the year and that just won't work. here is why
Look at the products that have to be released and probably will be

Iphone 6 4.7" (definitely)
iphone 6 5.5" (most probably)
Ipad Air 2 (definitely)
Ipad Mini 2 Retina (definitely)
Ipod (probably as not updated in long time and losing huge market share)
Mac Mini (most probably)
Macbook pro's (definitely)
New products such as apparent iwatch

All those products plus any more being released in the last 2 months of the year leads to problems. Firstly that Apple do not like to have one major products launch at same time as other. I.E they do not launch iphone at same time as Ipad
Next they do not like to have product launches too close together as it can take the shine and focus away from previous launch

So if they would therefore have to have a keynote speech every 2 weeks!
i don't think so.
Some of you will say that things will be launched about September time. Again No! Things are too far gone for that and just nor possible now if you look at the signs. Apple is looking to the end of the year which is backed up further by Apple's Eddy Cue who said that products are coming at the end of the year and that they are the best he has ever seen in his time at apple.
So nothing is coming till then, that means December, November time at earliest.
That has other ramifications such as by the time or if Apple get round to launching a new iphone then Samsung (and others) would have launched 2 new phones by then and probably will have the Galaxy S7 out which will a)be a real contender to Iphone and the fact that Iphone 6 would have a bigger screen just won't cut the mustard and b) for month after month after month after month there would be no Iphone to challenge the slew of Android Phones coming out and samsung Galaxy's.
people won't wait for months and years for Tim Cook to finally decide to stop drooling over software no matter how good it may be and launch some new iphone.
People won't wait for ever in other words.
So this year will go down in Apple's history as one of the worst ever since Steve Jobs came back to Apple and the only new hardware is a slightly updated Macbook Air that was so slight if you blinked you would have missed it.
Not very encouraging really.
Tim Cook can not do the job and needs to step down
Apple needs to release new hardware now not the back end of never!
Even if we somehow get all these devices in the last 4 weeks or so of the year then that is not good is it? I mean if you stagger products through the year then you can help keep competitors from catching up plus ensuring that customers stay with you or switch to you and also you can enable them to save up for the next product. If Apple release everything in one go at the end of the year then only a few rich people will be able to buy them all.
That will not help sales will it
not good, any way you look at it! I like software to a point but not everyone gets a ********* erection at the thought of software and some of us like hardware.
No hardware from Apple for quite a while and I will say till next year.
The fabled iwatch does not exist and Tim Cook has No absolutely no new products he keeps talking about as where are they?
He is just trying to stop people calling for him to go but mark my words he needs to go before it is too late!
I will keep on making my point till I am shown to be right and till Tim Cook leaves or is sacked
Apple released the same hardware late last year (iWatch aside), there is no reason to think this year won't be different. People working for Apple (Cook included) have said stuff is being released this year, analysts have said it. The rumours point towards new stuff being released this year as well. The iPhone has seen consistent rumours for months now, this indicates to a release not it being a fake, if it was a fake the rumours and leaks would be inconsistent.

If the iWatch is released or unveiled this year then I'm not sure it will have it's own event, if it does then I would imagine others would share an event and release date, most likely iPhone/iPads, or iWatch/iPads.

Just because Apple isn't releasing a new product every year and there are no leaks it doesn't mean that Apple don't have something in the pipeline.

Disappointed, I keep seeing "leaks" with these massive separators, guess this is real...

Yea those separators are hideous. So hideous I fact that it leaves me just a little skeptical that this is the IPhone 6 shell.

Doesn't even require innovation. Putting multiple LEDs in a single package is common as dirt.

I think you are right. Rather than antenna breaks, those May be actual antennae and could be an application of LiquidMetal that we were not expecting. Essentially, they would be putting the antennae on the outside of the phone.

Note: "Antennae" is used with insects. "Antennas" is used with radios.

As for the outside of the case, HTC already did that with the HTC One. No LiquidMetal required. (Everyone should also keep in mind that LM, being a conductor, is not radio transparent.)

the casting on top and bottom between the mid section and the antenna regions looks like a bridge piece. What I mean is it is screwed into the center piece but not necessarily touching it electrically. It looks like it is attached through insulative bushings of the black plastic. I don't think they are electrically connected to the center body piece. It even looks like the top piece has a much smaller screw boss where the actual signal wire will be connected to establish the signal across the entire of the casted top and bottom inserts without conducting through to the middle chassis.

Something like this, I would think. The photo actually looks very similar to the inside of the HTC One case. (pic here)

And HTC and Apple have a patent cross license.

What are you going on about? The last three revisions of the iPhone and iPad were released in the Fall.

The antenna thing looks much better here than in the mockups. It just looks... cleaner?

Nobody believed Apple would have designed the iPhone 4 because it was too different.
Nobody believed Apple would have designed the iPhone 5 because it was too different.
Nobody believed Apple would have designed iOS 7 because it was too different.
You get the idea.
I can't wait for an iWatch to come out so all the hypers can call that ugly too, then buy one and get over it.
I remember not liking the way the iPhone 5 looked, then I got one and when you see it in person, you understand.

Yeah I understand that, but I've read before that liquid metal could be radio transparent in some form. Liquid metal is a ceramic-like material after all.

That being said it looks like it may well be a myth as I have not been able to confirm it in my Web searches and found a few people trying to debunk this notion.

So I guess we can rule out liquid metal for the antenna breaks, but I wouldn't be surprised if it was a "special" material with that Apple will spend two minutes explaining at the unveiling keynote.

Having a phone (My Moto X) that has the power button the side is so much more comfortable, esp. if the phone is going to be 4.7in/5.5in. No matter which hand you grip the phone in either your thumb or finger is right there on the button. Imagine having a large phone and having to stretch to hit the power button.

Go try an HTC One M8. It's power button is on the top. You really have to stretch to hit it.

Oh, the agony.

Doubling down on security?

So the nonexistent, never announced, no even a peep mentioned iPhone 6 grande and 6 venti have been so "outed"...for the sake of a better word.

Anyone who honestly believes that Apple doesn't do this on purpose to creat spin and buzz is dulisional. Apple is continuing to lose market share to to Android phones...and Apple has no venti version so Apple allows these leaks.

Besides great products, Apple has even better marketing....oops. According to the long-dead Steve Jobs, that's a bad word...but applicable none the less.

Needs more watermarks.

MR, why don't you stamp your logo on there too? You can cite it as "Re-republished by:"

Everything is ugly until it's made by Apple. Then it's great.

I'm sure Apple will take your invaluable opinion to heart. Apple is gonna do what they do and they don't give a rat's ass what you think because they know what the rest of us do. You'll buy the next one.

Yeah, fantastic response... Because Jony Ive's exact thoughts were "I'll make this phone as ugly as possible, because a percentage of our users may want to use a case one day and they won't see it"

There are high-resistivity formulations of Liquid Metal, so perhaps it could be used to isolate the antennas.

This really is shaping up to be the ugliest iphone since the 3G/3GS.

I think the antenna breaks are so large because those are the only plastic exposure for the antenna - I think the inserts are metal, so the breaks have to be large for the antenna.
