3 days? wow!
Mine lasts all day (from 6:30am to 10pm), and there is a good 10%/15% left. And I am constantly listening to music, watching youtube videos, doing work, facebooking, playing chess and such. Seriously a big step up from my 5S.

To be honest, I don't use the phone for video, wordprocessing work and facebook (which I hate). Mostly calls, sms, internet, camera shots (photos).

waiting for the day that some journalist "boo" during the media event instead of big applause, ... :-/

Jony: "You have to deeply understand the essence of a product in order to be able to get rid of the parts that are not essential. There is profound and enduring beauty in simplicity. For iPhone 7, we've made the iPhone even more beautiful by removing the headphone jack."

Switch from metal case to something more comfortable to hold and lighter.
Like what? You need a machinable material that is both strong and light and available in quantities. Aluminum is just that. Even the aircraft industry mainly uses glass laminate aluminium reinforced epoxy (GLARE) and other aluminium alloys. The alternative carbon fiber is just not ready for iPhone like mass production.
Plus new colours - bored with black or white fronts. Preferably one uniform colour front and back.
We just got a new color - Rose Gold. The fronts use neutral colors for a reason.
That shows a complete lack of imagination which is the main problem.
No it's not. Imagination is good for science fiction, not actual science.
They need a bunch of fresh new designers with new ideas instead of the same old faces churning out the same old designs year after year.
I suggest you switch to another brand of smartphones, change for the sake of novelty is not the Apple way.

I'm sure there will be a 3.5 to lightning adapter...Maybe even in the box.

Not likely in the box. Perhaps they will include a Lightning to 3.5mm adapter so that the included Lightning EarPods can be used on Macs, and other legacy port audio equipment (maybe even cleverly incorporated into the Lightning connector itself). But it's not in Apple's best interest to keep customers using a cheap 3.5mm alternative that would give them no incentive to explore Bluetooth or Lightning.

I was hoping for something a little more interesting or radical than a re-used iPod touch design..

Maybe one can hope that they change the front, and reduce the bezel size on the sides. That would do it for me personally.

Since the iPhone 4, Apple only does iterative, not radical. We should all know this already. Radical can only be found in the Android and Windows world (for better or worse)

BS. "Here's to the dreamers". Remember that famous line from an Apple ad?

Probably not as you're too busy plodding along with the same old mundane tech. Just because you have no imagination doesn't mean the rest of us haven't.

The reason the front is either black or white (or silver/gray) is that these are neutral to the colors displayed on the screen. If the front would be red, blue, green or yellow, your brain would mix this color with the colors displayed on the screen and alter how you perceive them. The front will never be colorful.

I'd like to know how people actually expect Apple to completely redesign a phone that has always been and will alway need to be this shape in order to give us the internet/music/apps we've all come to love and appreciate in our pockets.

If they keep this design they'll get ridiculed, if they use a different design to this they'll get accused of copying 'insert long list of potential companies to copy'.

Nobody is ever completely satisfied with what they get given so my guess is those of you moaning will just have to suck it up or get a different phone.

Because there is more practical away of connecting. The one that does not involve wires coming out of your pockets, t-shirt, around your neck and down your ears. Quality may be questionable currently but wireless is the future and 3.5mm is going to be a history and there is no question about it.

Wait, so lightning connector earbuds won't have a wire?

I already looked past the 6S Plus and stuck with my 6 Plus because they added so much weight to it and made the battery smaller in exchange for a useless feature (3D Touch).

meanwhile the Galaxy S7 Edge is an incredible phone, with the same display as a 6 plus but while being smaller and with a bigger battery. Apple is simply behind on design right now, and this leak doesn't suggest they have a real way forward.

Yeah if you're really just looking at the core functional hardware of the phone (display, form factor, battery life) then the S7 Edge kind of destorys the 6S Plus. The huge difference is software and obviously an opinion is to be had there. Also probs need to compare battery life from one OS to the other (iOS being more efficient), but the 6 plus to 6s plus was kind of a kick in the nuts.

Yeah, I'm almost at the same boat. If things will be as they look now (ofc, I understand that's a big "if"), I'm going to remain with iPhone 6 plus, from 2014. I've invested much to iOS ecosystem, so I wouldn't choose switching, not just yet. However, if apple keep creating those - unnecessarily, because of the top and bottom bezels - huge phones that is always a pain to carry and use, I'll eventually have to switch.

Luckily I'm not invested to anything. While I primarily own apple products, I don't spend any money on apps, so the only thing I'd really miss is iMessage, and tbh I don't really care about that anymore. Regarding your comment, they will reduce the bezels in the iPhone 8, guaranteed. I don't think we'll see edge to edge like what will most likely be mainstream in 2 years (lol), but probably close to it.

I wish they'd come out with something like this

[doublepost=1458108343][/doublepost]I'm still hoping Apple brings it this year. As of now, Samsung has the number 1 phone in the world right now IMO. In terms of design and hardware, Samsung is killing Apple

Yes, that's my hope too. I could live with the 6 plus for 1 or 2 more years, no big deal. Of course, it is going to get slower with every new iOS (it already gets a bit slow with app switching, and browsing/tab switch that I use a lot), but switching to android for that just doesn't worth it. If this keeps going on, however ...

This design would be acceptable if people laid their phones on the table face down. They don't.

Pretty sure if Apple released an iPhone that looked like that, I could lay it face down or back down or whatever. But that's besides the point. I just want Apple to release an iPhone that doesn't look like it belongs in 2008. The huge bezels need to hit the bricks. And I really hope that back camera doesn't look like what was leaked

Or those that need studio quality audio for their profession. Bluetooth isn't there yet- not by a long chalk... Monitor-level headphones are what I use, and need. No Bluetooth even come close.

It does the job just great for me. Am not gonna pretend that i an some sort of musician and if I am honest, I can't hear much difference. It's great to have my phone somewhere few metres away or in my pocket, and enjoy the music wirlessly, skipping songs using my Apple watch.

I think many people share the same feeling.

Now, this design alone would be able to wipe out all the competition, without even counting the new hardware features.
That looks like something apple would once do to bring something different to the table.
