Yuuuk! This looks terrible! Too long and not wide enough... and it runs android....

Since switching to a Samsung S10e from iPhone SE after the battery died I can't say I notice much difference at all between the two operating systems. The main things being I can now drag and drop files at will without having to touch iTunes which I'm certainly not unhappy about! I think most biases are years out of date, the main brands are all doing much the same things.

Folding phones could be the next big thing in phones... like the transition from QWERTY keyboards to glass slabs.

Or they could be like 3D TVs... all but forgotten.

Story developing... :p

On one hand I like the form factor as it's small but then I start thinking of having to flip this open all the time and that just doesn't seem convenient for doing everyday stuff I do like quickly answering a message or digging out your phone to pay at a store or showing your bus ticket.

Try sending an email with lots of attachments, you'll soon realize how your Android is a lot better than your former iOS device.

Been Android only for a year, never ever had a moment where I was like on iOS I could to this but I can't here, while I had many experiences of the opposite.

As of today, it is a lot easier to operate Android and far more complete than iOS, it was not like that years ago.

What if you did not have to, as in this might be the hub for your wearables, then you would not need to open it that often.

Moto had it better...the second screen is usable not like this one 1" irrelevant
And moto can be open/closed easily with one hand , this one not so much because of its size. And for this type of product this is the thing

The design has a long way to go before it will be appealing to the masses.

My fear would be poor battery life. If the phone has good battery life it means it’s probably pretty thick when folded. If they made it more pocketable, it may have lousy battery life. People will buy it because it’s new.

An allegedly leaked video showing Samsung's upcoming "Galaxy Z Flip" has been shared online, offering a hands-on preview of what the company's second attempt at a folding phone will look like.

Shared on Twitter by mobile leaker Ben Geskin, the short clip shows the clamshell-like device in action for the first time. The Galaxy Z Flip is reminiscent of a traditional flip phone that folds up into a compact palm-sized phone, making it small enough to easily fit into a pocket.

The handset appears to have two cameras on the back next to a digital clock readout, similar to the alleged leaked images we saw in December. What isn't clear is whether the model uses the previously rumored "ultra-thin glass" that Samsung is said to have developed in an effort to avoid the display issues that plagued the Galaxy Fold, which uses a plastic screen.

The 6.7-inch Galaxy Z Flip is expected to be more affordable than its book-style predecessor, which costs $1,980 in the U.S. Motorola announced in November the resurrection of its Razr brand in the form of a similar-looking vertically folding Android phone. The new mid-range Razr will cost $1,499 when it's released next month.

The Galaxy Z Flip is expected to be revealed alongside the Galaxy S11 (possibly called the "Galaxy S20") at Samsung's Unpacked event in San Francisco on February 11.

There are no rumors suggesting that Apple has plans to release a foldable smartphone anytime soon, but Apple is undoubtedly looking into foldable devices given that rival companies are coming out with them. In the past, Apple has patented some foldable display technology, and a rumor earlier this year suggested Samsung has provided folding display samples to Apple.

Too big... Give it a few years though. Glad there is research being done in this area.

The folding is an interesting concept, but I will never buy one. I am more interested in bigger battery

I don’t see a point in this phone.

It looks like another experiment from Samsung.

This is the future of all phones. Mark my words

Your word is marked.
Foldables are amazing, but not for smartphones. Smartphones will evolve on a different path. Foldable displays will find a use for curved objects (pillars, wall corners, car dashboards that curve) and many many other amazing stuff. They sure will experiment on smartphones or tablets but I can't see it catching on.

I do frequently switch to Android, mostly to try new Galaxy phones that I like. And every time I do, I realize why I love iOS, and always keep switching back. There are certainly a lot of good things about Android, but for me and how I use the phone, iOS offers more and is a more solid OS.

This really doesn’t help put a bigger screen in your pocket, since this brick will either cause a sciatic nerve palsy or cut off your groin pulse, depending on in which pocket you keep it. Now that we have folding screens let’s design phones like we had to back in 1992? I don’t need antilock brakes on a horse buggy either.

But the display on the Motorola display isn’t even properly attached to the body and you can put your finger into it
irelevant at this point..im sure the samsung will also have issues...i was talking about the idea behind it...moto shows it took their time for what an folable flip phone should be
Nobody should buy the first/second gen....let them lose money and from dust an Phoenix will rise

I don’t get the point of this? It’s not like the tiny flip phones of the pre-iPhone era. There’s nothing ‘cute’ about it. It looks bulky and unappealing.

Looks like Dookie what's the point of this we have already been through the flip phone erra.

There’s no need for a foldable phone. It doesn’t add any value. So no matter how hard they try to make them a thing people won’t be excited about it and only a handful of fools will buy them... It’s set to fail from the beginning. Samsung is ridiculous.

This would only be good for people who don't constantly check their phones. Its a pain in the ass enough to look at my phone to unlock it, let alone flip it open first.

Oops, seems i'm on SamsungRumors.com, can someone tell me where macrumors went?
They should just change the name if they are going to keep doing this...wonder if they will start posting about LG tumble dryers next?
You understand you are part of the problem right?

I mean by commenting you are increasing post counts and views, which means monetary return(for the site), which, in the end, means they (blogs in general) will post whatever increases traffic.

So if you really do not care about some things, better not even open it, the less stuff you do not like you open, the less you are gonna see of it.

Does Macrumors just want more clicks from Android fans or they genuinely believe this has something to do with Apple?
