Intriguing stuff.

I can't wait to see what Apple has in store for all of us. I have no doubt whatever changes Apple is bringing to OS X will be for the better for everyone, and will be embraced by all.

These enhancements to the OS X experience will only continue to drive Mac adoption as we continue to erode Microsoft's lead with the traditional computing platform.

I can see a time when Apple will dominate the desktop and mobile markets.

Apple's best days are still to come.

What's the watermark in the top right corner? Also, who would run a "spy shot" like this through some image editor and give it blur/fx?

That version number looks to me like 1.0, fake ?

Yeah, it looked like 1.0 to me too, which made me question this "leak" as well.

In addition to that, the startup disk is being shown as "Macintosh HDD". I know one can change that, but it seems too similar (without actually being it) to "Macintosh HD" (the default) for being a name someone willingly chose for their startup disk. Also, if the computer has only one internal mass storage drive, does the About this Mac window even display the startup disk? I can't check that because mine has two...

Why don't people just wait for the real thing to be announced? Why get worked up over something that may or may not be legit and may or may not be final? 9to5Mac had these blurry photos a couple months ago but never ran with them.

Now : "Blablabla it's terrible, i miss steve jobs, everything sucks, it's so ugly"

After tonight : "Omg I love it, can't wait to install it, genius Apple."

On a second look at it I see some HW config which makes me think what kind of Mac is that?
2.8 GHz core i7 and 1067 DDR RAM???

I believe so, my iMac only has one internal HDD and my startup disk is listed. Doesn't look right though with that version number or the startup disk name

Why would I need control center on my Mac? I can enable/disable bluetooth and Wifi from the menu bar. Being able to control music from the control centre is not important to me, actually I never listen to music using my Mac. Never.

Then...don't use it?

2,8 GHz Core i7 and 1067 MHz DDR3 (to me it says DDR3) would match a 27-inch Late 2009 iMac or a Mid 2010 MacBook Pro. Judging by the relative size of elements on-screen and the display bezel, it's probably the latter that's pictured.

AH. God! It means it's probably legit.
I so dislike the Dock and those iOS icons...

Nah we'll see.

After looking at a member's post of the removed photos, these are my impressions:

  1. I HATE the Finder icon.
  2. I like the overall flatter look, it'll give OS X's UI a breath of fresh air - just like Lion did with the removal of the Aqua interface.
  3. There's a lot of wasted space in the vertical Control Centre.
  4. If they're going for a flatter look, then they've gone backwards with regard to the pictured Notification Centre - the current implementation is less glossy. However, it looks great all the same and it'll be nice to get things like weather and such in there.
  5. I love the return of the old Dock. Looks like the one from 10.4, which is probably what the one from iOS is based on. I really like the current one in Mavericks, too.

Overall, it'll be another iterative update - but that's no bad thing. I hope they add AirDrop compatibility with iOS, as it's confusing for the consumer that the two systems currently offer it but won't work together. I also hope it runs as fast as Mavericks.

I think Apple should ditch the dock altogether and just use Launchpad instead or at least make the dock optional. There are those like myself who hardly use the dock and personally I keep it hidden too for the extra screen real estate.

Disabling the dock is easy. First, hide the dock. Then, extend the dock autohide delay by opening terminal, pasting this and hitting enter:
defaults write com.apple.Dock autohide-delay -float 1000 && killall Dock

To revert back, open terminal, then paste this and hit enter:
defaults delete com.apple.Dock autohide-delay && killall Dock

I marginally like it more than I dislike it.

Like I said earlier, I'm not a regular user of the dock but I preferred it 3D compared to pre-Leopard/iOS7-like flat. As long as I don't invoke the dock after upgrading I won't notice it...much. lol

EDIT:
Disabling the dock is easy.

Thanks. :)

*copy/paste into Textedit for future reference*

I'm just saying that Apple should take the next step and remove the dock from the system altogether as it continues to develop and evolve OS X.

No-no... it's rather: "it starts growing on me" :D (meaning: I might have been a ***** with my narrow-mindedness before, but hell I'm not gonna admit it).
