i don't like that color... *folds arms*

is this like, one of the special offers ?

"Now get an iPhone with a protruding ring."

Only at Apple..

What you're doing is reading one person say one thing and another person say another and then acting as if two completely different people having two differing opinions means something deeper than that.

You're essentially pointing out that person A likes something and person B doesn't. While we appreciate your tireless effort to point this out on every thread, what's the point of doing that?

Btw I'm just commenting on what I read from you also, nothing more .

And I DO see it the same way you do, I'm just wondering what significance it has that you need to say it in every thread? That's the million dollar question. Any answer?

I try to only point it out in threads where it is painfully obvious. And I have no issues with you commenting on what I post. That's what a forum is all about. Agree, disagree, discuss, argue, trade ideas and opinions. It makes things interesting and entertaining.

Yes agreed , discussing, arguing, trading ideas and opinions does make things interesting and entertaining. But that's not what you're doing, you're just pointing out the "painfully obvious" (which in this case is that two people have differing opinions). I'm trying to figure out the point.

I'm just giving you a hard time of course, because as I've mentioned I like seeing people backtrack when they're called out on the flip flop thing, but the beats thing was pretty embarrassing. I'm just surprised you're still sticking with the same boring script after that

Do you mean Beats are still junk? I thought they would have topped Sennheiser and Stax by now. :p

Apple's new style is "make something that is ugly, adamantly defend it until everybody claims it's modern and clean".

Precisely. Also, that perfectly describes Apple's horrible choice to use flat design while getting rid of the better-looking, more functional, and more user-friendly skeuomorphic design.

I would bet my bottom dollar, if Apple would sell a thin and a not so thin version of the same phone, say Version a) 6.7 mm, protruding Camera, Wall huggers battery, form over function, and Version b) 8.5 mm, flushed camera, fantastic battery life, extremely solid body, that Model b) would sell better.

Oh no question in my mind!

By the way, from what I can see here, the protruding camera is on a bevelled area and does not create problems when the phone lies flat on a table..

Well spotted! There is hope. :)

No, it doesn't. The sensors do not care what the physical orientation of the phone is, they only care about what they are being told is level and how the sensor is oriented in reference to that.

That would make sense if this only meant that the phone wouldn't be parallel with the surface, but it means more than that - it means it'll wobble, and it will lean various ways depending on the angle of the surface. You can't calibrate it if you don't know what position it'll end up in. Also, the phone thinking it's level when the screen isn't would be unintuitive to the point of being unusable. I think we have to face it - it's not going to be useful as a spirit level in that orientation. I don't think that's a big deal, I for one have only used the spirit level feature vertically anyway, but it is still a sacrifice of practicality for aesthetics.

*IF* the camera bump isn't leveled out by raising the opposite corners as well, the phone will have a lean of 0,3 degrees or so (tan^-1 (0.67/130)) when laid on its back. Now, I do not know what type of sensor Apple uses, but I would not be surprised to find that 0,3 degrees falls within the assumed deviation of the sensor.

It most certainly will not be in any way unuseable.

You think one of the world's most renowned industrial designers is going to release a phone with those bands? You guys are funny.

Find other photos online of the rear shell...those bands are obviously placeholders for something else.

I seriously hope you are right.

I fail to see the big deal here. I doubt Apple are naive enough to build an iPhone that wobbles while laying on a flat surface due to a protruding camera lens. Even if it did, most people put their iPhones in a case anyways, so it won't be an issue.

You mean just like they did with the iPod touch 5?

Your IT5 wobbles while lying on a flat surface? Mine does not and neither do any in all the YT videos I have watched. You should probably return yours, its defective.
