Limitation only to those that want the iPad to be (or truly replace) a laptop, really.

Which I can agree; it IS what I want. But that's because of ME, and my desire for the perfect 2-in-1 from Apple.

I feel we're 99% there: proper output to monitors and I'm good. Oh, and perhaps an even bigger iPad, like a 15".

USB-C, external drive and mouse/trackpad support were the biggest deal breakers for me and have now been addressed.
I think it would be great if they added a second USB-C port on the iPad Pro, although, that has been addressed with the Magic Keyboard.

I know this thread is inactive but was curious whether anyone thinks this new 12.9 iPad Pro, if it does essentially keep the same design footprint will fit the Magic Keyboard? If it does, I am pretty sure I will replace my 2018 iPad Pro to this one.

I would say it would... we are talking 0.5 of a mm, the current iPad Pro fits in with a glass screen protector which is 0.3mm thick so this will definately fit IMO...

Thanks for the reply back. You think Apple will keep overall dimensions similar to compatibility with the Magic Keyboard which not even a year old?

Yeah 100% I think we won’t see a new magic keyboard for another year or so at least... look at the Apple Pencil... it took them 3 years to refresh that... so I expect a new Magic Keyboard in 2022/2023 at the earliest probably when the iPad gets a full redesign

Awesome and hope you're right! Thanks again.

In the ”whatever it’s worth” category of the new iPad Pro being slightly thicker, l0vetodream commented yesterday that “the iPad Pro now on sale is too thin. I don’t like”
