I’m probably in the minority, but I’m hoping for a 15” iPP with a larger second gen Magic Keyboard.
Unless you value battery life.NOOOOOOOOOOOOO Why does apple have to increase thickness
THINNER IS ALWAYS BETTER!!!!!
The camera a bump is there so you can have a thinner iPad.Also the camera bump is not a problem at all if it means significantly better camera quality.
Apple went out of its way to make the Air compatible with the Magic Keyboard so I'm betting the new iPP is also compatible; especially since the keyboard attaches to the flat back not the sides.I hope they’d don’t shave off just enough to make it no longer compatible with the current magic keyboard!
That’s part of the reason why I bought a thin plastic case with integrated Smart Cover. 14 bucks on eBay and it completely eliminates that issue. The camera bump is so annoying when you're using the iPad flat on the desk.
I ws thinking they should should have 4 bumps so it lays flat.. like legs. Then they could put another cam in one of them and support stereo pictures. The camera bump is so annoying when you're using the iPad flat on the desk.
I would laugh so hard if that happened. 😈 But I don't think it will happen. They'll move the magnets due to "physical change" and component move around (camera modules shift slightly, new speaker setup).
Introducing the Magic Keyboard 2021.
Now with...........
function keys!

However, I've thought all along that there was a decent possibility that the 2021 (or 2022) would kill compatibility with the older Magic Keyboard.
Of course, this is just a unsubstantiated rumour at this point about the change in form factor.
Me too, but not as much as a rumour, so am not hopefulI’m probably in the minority, but I’m hoping for a 15” iPP with a larger second gen Magic Keyboard.
I feel the exact same way and have the same ipad as you. There is literally nothing it can’t do or lags in. Apple will have to make significant upgrades to IpadOS first before I give a damn about the performance upgrades in the A chips. The only reason I would upgrade my 2018 iPad 11 pro would be for the display. With no change this year means l will pass on upgrading, I like my one back cam that I don’t use.
very exciting stuff, headline should just say zero changes
Tech blogs 91mobile and MySmartPrice on Tuesday posted a series of allegedly leaked factory CAD images of Apple's upcoming fifth-generation 11-inch iPad Pro.

Rumors suggest Apple plans to announce two new iPad Pro models in both 11-inch and 12.9-inch versions, and today's images offer perhaps the clearest indication yet that Apple's next-generation iPad Pros will have minimal, if any, external design changes.
According to MySmartPrice, the the fifth-generation 11-inch iPad Pro will be the same thickness, but Apple will "shave off some millimeters from the length and breadth." The device may also exhibit changes to the internal speaker system, by potentially reducing the number of speakers grilles and relocating them.
Previous rumors about the next-generation iPad Pro models indicate no changes to the display size or housing, but A-series chip performance is expected to be "significantly improved."
According to one rumor, the rear cameras are said to protrude less in the new iPad Pro models. Specifically, the camera bump will remain, but the protrusion of the individual camera lenses will not be required.

There is also the suggestion that Apple will release standard iPad Pro 11-inch and 12.9-inch updates, while also making a separate high-end mini-LED 12.9-inch model, which could be about 0.5mm thicker to accommodate the higher spec display.
DigiTimes believes Apple is working on a 5G iPad with mmWave support, which would be positioned as a high-end iPad Pro, and 5G support could be released alongside the new mini-LED display.
Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo says that a mini-LED iPad Pro launch is expected in the first half of this year, while DigiTimes also believes a mini-LED iPad Pro will launch in early 2021, as does Korea's ETNews.

To that I would reply...the problems in the LCD screens ipads use have tons of issues too. Backlight bleed, yellow tint, phantom touch, white spots (I’ve had this and it sucks on my 10.5pro).OLED on the iPad would be a mistake. Burn-in becomes a real issue and with a screen that size, noticeable.
I think Apple will have to call it the iPad Super Pro... 😉 “ DigiTimes believes Apple is working on a 5G iPad with mmWave support, which would be positioned as a high-end iPad Pro”iPad Pro Pro
They solved that problem with a blinking arrow to tell you to look To the left for FaceIDIs landscape FaceID still not a thing? I remember reading it but may have just been a rumour that never happened
Also hate the bump in iPad or iPhone, it’s a compromised solution for a thinner and lighter device, not elegant nor practical, and TBH I wish it was the other way around (lenses recessed). However I would refrain from putting so much trust in the lenses glass, by using your iPad supported on it; not a good idea, unless you don’t mind the scratches...unfortunately case is the way to go.I ws thinking they should should have 4 bumps so it lays flat.. like legs. Well, I’m looking forward for a new 12.9 IPP, and I’m holding off until the release, but by the looks of it, I’ll looking for the price dump on the existing ones instead...How can the Buyer’s Advice still be “Neutral” when all evidence points to an updated model being released in March?
