Already have a small dent on my Sport Apple watch, dropped it from 3 feet onto hardwood floor. Any one else already damaged their watch. Looks like I should of gone with the stainless, just couldn't justify the extra cost.

That's not too bad. I was expecting worse. It's gonna happen to everyone's in time. At least you got the first one out of the way!

Too bad... but regard it as a battle scar, and enjoy how it adds character.

I'm not sure the SS will be any more robust against dropping... We'll hear soon enough!

I was also expecting worse. I'm sure that hurt to see but I think it's small enough that it shouldn't bother you after a little while.

Should've got that "hardened" gold... :D

Yeah I guess it's not that bad, it's just that I not used to having my expensive gadgets being dinged up. I Always put a case on everything but don't want to on a watch, it is already big enough.
The scary thing is this is only after one day, how will it look in 30 days.

Sorry to see that happen. But when it's a watch we're talking about it's just a fact of life because they're more vulnerable. We'll be reading loads of these reports especially since Aluminum is soft, no matter what Apple claims.

I have the SS model, yet I'm fully aware it's easily scratched. I have lots of watch experience and know what to expect.

I'll be getting a case for my watch. Spigen seems to have a decent one already and I'm sure more will come. No scratches or dents from my watch thank you very much. My original iPhone which was all aluminum had not a single scratch on it.

I am glad that your Apple Watch do not land glass side down.

It's a watch... It's going to happen, as you walk your arm will likely brush up against walls, door frames, desks, objects, etc. It's the price you pay for having a device exposed all day, every day.

Are people seriously buying cases for their watch though?

i ordered mine 2 weeks ago lol. sgp makes awesome cases too bad it don't ship till may 18th

Let me preface this comment by saying that I am SUPER protective of all my gadgets. I hate any little mark on an iPhone or iPad.

But with watches--it's a little different. My Citizen EcoDrive is pretty banged up, and there's really just no way around it with a watch. I catch it on doors all the time, and it rubs against the desk when I type so the band is all banged up too. (By the way, Citizen bands are just as expensive as Apple bands, which is why I haven't replaced it.)

I think I would accept the damage your watch has as minimal for a watch.

You're luckier than this person's drop from 1 meter

So much for the new aluminum alloy that's supposed to be 60% stronger.

It's still aluminum even if it's 60% stronger.

Nobody considers this a big deal right? I'm laughing/crying at the state of consumerism on these boards when people are acting like a scratch on their SS model is the end of the world.
