Are you 100% sure that's dent came from you dropping the watch? The reason I ask is because upon receiving my watch from apple I clearly had that same exact dent in the same spot as yours and haven't dropped mine.

That odds that the dent/blemish are in the exact same spots seems strange to me.

The odds of 1 in 4 of the corners of the watch getting hit seem to be about 1 in 4 to me ;):p

Based on the ifixit teardown, if you have an apple sport watch, can you replace the glass with the sapphire? That's what I plan on doing since it's the same size, unless somehow the connector is different.....

Yeah I guess it's not that bad, it's just that I not used to having my expensive gadgets being dinged up. I Always put a case on everything but don't want to on a watch, it is already big enough.
The scary thing is this is only after one day, how will it look in 30 days.

Well, stop dropping it on the floor and you'll be okay.

I remember you. His dent does look just like the one you posted.

Eventually I'm going to attempt, after much wear and tear, to polish the aluminum back to a shiny finish to clear off knicks and see how it looks.

It'll probably be around the time I plan to replace it, just in case, though.

I'll be getting a case for my watch. Spigen seems to have a decent one already and I'm sure more will come. No scratches or dents from my watch thank you very much. My original iPhone which was all aluminum had not a single scratch on it.

I am glad that your Apple Watch do not land glass side down.

Yeah, I got two coming from Spigen, the really thin kind. Also a glass screen protector. I'm pretty good with my watches, but I have chipped the glass of one of the crystals on one of my watches. Rather be careful than sorry.

This is hysterical, did anyone ever hear of crystal protectors or wearable cases for traditional watches before this?

I can't even imagine people walking around with a prophylactic screen cover on their Rolex.

Actually they do have protectors for traditional watch crystals out there.

wrap it in some cotton wool and condoms to stop it denting again? Why not just keep it in the box and never use it?

Dents and dings and scratches happen period. It's like whining about chips on a windshield. It is bound to happen. Move on.

I know. I posted I had a dent out of box brand new. Having to send it back in. Same exact spot.

Pretty sure it was from the drop because didn't notice it before and as soon as I dropped it I check it and there was the dent.

It's not the same spot, mine is just above the crown.

Agh no. I remember when I got my first Nick on my iPhone 5s days after buying it. Thinking back it was pathetically small but the first dink always really bugs me on new tech, especially the screen. That's the main reason I went for the watch edition

I thought mine was dented out of the box, turns out it was just some residue from something that wiped off. The dent sucks, but at least it's fairly small.

9to5Mac apparently say the 7000 Series aluminium is harder than the 316L SS. It'll be interesting to see how both hold up over time - I think the SS will show scratches a lot more, though can obviously be polished. The SS just reminds me a bit too much of the scratchtastic old iPods though.

This is what iPhones looks like when you don't use a case. Welcome to the club.

I have a Panerai that's 10 years old that has a dented case and cracked sapphire crystal. Things break no matter what the marketing department tells you.

I've been wearing a nano in an aluminum Lunatik band for 3+ years now, and have ran it into door frames, walls, etc countless times.

Other than some very minor paint nicks around the very edges, it has held up well. So it's a bit disappointing to see that simply falling on a hardwood floor causes that kind of dent.

I have a tendency to whack my watch against doors or tables on occasion, I may go with the SS to avoid this. Anyone else think the aluminum case on the Sport looks cheap, like its made of plastic?

Already have a dent on my Sport

This was a joke right. There aren't really cases for a sport watch right?

If it's not a joke and one feels it necessary to get a case for a watch then I'd say factor the cost of AppleCare plus and two replacements into the cost. Putting a case on a watch is just. Well. Gah

I apologize. I just saw the case. Well. I guess if you want it to look like a g shock there's a reason to use it.

Yesterday I went swimming. In the changing room when I was putting my watch off it fell down on the tile floor. I'm glad the screen survived at but of course I got a dent.
It's not that bad and you only see it from certain angles. I'm still pretty sad because it just happened five day after I got it. Never happened to any iPhone I owned.

I got AppleCare+ for my Watch but it looks like it doesnt' cover any cosmetic damage?

AppleCare+ will cover you for up to two incidents of accidental damage from handling, each subject to a service fee. I think it's $69 +tax for a Watch Sport replacement under AppleCare+ accidental damage.

I'm sure that scratch/dent is driving you crazy. I would be unhappy about it myself. If you're inclined to use your AppleCare+ for this, I would wait until you've had the watch awhile longer. Might as well save it, just in case you damage it again.

Eek sorry to hear that. If we are looking at the bottom right corner it isn't really all that noticeable from the pics. You can always check with apple and see what they say if it bothers you that much. The worst they could tell you is that it isn't covered.
