AppleCare+ will cover you for up to two incidents of accidental damage from handling, each subject to a service fee. I think it's $69 +tax for a Watch Sport replacement under AppleCare+ accidental damage.

"(v) The Plan does not apply to cosmetic damage to the Covered Equipment, including but not limited to scratches and dents that do not otherwise affect the functionality of the Covered Equipment."

It would cost 65€ here in Germany. Maybe I will call Apple tomorrow. No Apple Store near me. Or I just live with it.

Just talked to Apple. Will get a new one on Saturday or Monday. Guy on the phone line was incredibly nice. Have to pay 65€ for AppleCare+ Coverage.

Happy I got AppleCare+. Now I will take much more care for my Watch.

The damage was minor but I just couldn't live with it :)

Dropped mine putting it on at the gym after a shower - 3-4 feet on a tile floor. Amazingly just got the dent. I was bummed and debated AppleCare+ but this is going to happen more than a few times. I've got some light scratches already as well. I might as well embrace it...

Already have a small dent on my Sport Apple watch, dropped it from 3 feet onto hardwood floor. Any one else already damaged their watch. Looks like I should of gone with the stainless, just couldn't justify the extra cost.
The stainless would have likely been damaged by the fall as well.

I'm not sure why everything thinks that the stainless model cannot see any cosmetic damage of any kind.

Agreed. My fall would have dented the steel as well. The scratches are really the only difference (arguably)...

Wow, you wasted an AppleCare+ over that. Well, to each his own :) Good luck with your new watch!

Edit: I actually have a really nasty scratch on my Stainless Steel in the corner. But I'm sure it's gonna happen as it's a watch. So I'll wait. I got 2 years, and I got 2 AppleCare+ things. I'll hold out a bit. Plus, I guess I can go to a jewelry store and buff it out if I really wanted to.

What? How do you know how much of an impact caused that. Ridiculous!

We do know. It was dropped 3 feet onto hardwood floor. Not directly comparable, but I've heard of people dropping their iPhones from that height with little or no damage, much to their surprise. On the other hand, the iPhone is capable of sustaining the damage shown in the OP just from a few inches drop onto something harder than hardwood floor. This is of course anecdotal.

I sent my 42mm SGS back for replacement today. Somehow the bottom of the display was cracked from one corner to another. The crack was getting bad enough that a piece of glass came chipped out. I've never dropped it and as far as I know never bumped it into anything. Had it for about one week. They've said they will replace it under warranty so hopefully that's the case. I expect scratches since its just glass, just like any of my normal watches, but was shocked I had the crack.

And they shipped a replacement in 24 hours! I hope this time the screen lasts more than a week.

That's extremely minor. I'll bet in the next year you'll hit your arm on a wall or something and make something worse than that. I was expecting a big dent on the casing. Case is pretty tough.

It's a watch... It's going to happen, as you walk your arm will likely brush up against walls, door frames, desks, objects, etc. It's the price you pay for having a device exposed all day, every day.

Are people seriously buying cases for their watch though?

Reaching into dresser drawers is another high prone impact area.
