Well I'm due to pick up a new Blackbook in the next few days and can say I'm quite happy about that - if these fakes were anything to go by I'd be kicking myself for having waited for them.

It was in our gift to give the world our language. We should be forgiven for still wanting to set the rules - even as our candle gutters on the world stage.
If the French or Germans had won that particular race, no doubt they would be the same. But because of modern communications and the fact that the world has 'grown up' in the age of America's 'cultural', economic and social dominance [and because they're often quite loud], they're the ones that call the shots.

Actually, another post gave info to the contrary. Aluminum was the standard pronunciation until it was changed to fit with the rest of the "ium" elements by the UK. Now, both pronunciations and spellings are correct.
It's actually the UK that wants to change things to fit their own game, as is usually the case.
Amen to that.

It is. The foggy-ness of the photo really give it away. But it does prove the point that mockup artists still don't carry a creative bone in their body. They are still using the iMac bezel like having a black border around the monitor of a portable has a purpose.
And yeah, the trackpad will be a second monitor

Its meant to be a reflection by the looks of it but there is no dock on the screen.
System Preferences/Dock/[√] Automatically hide and show the Dock

It's difficult to wish for the impossible. Where would we be getting our computers from if that had happened? But that a succession of governments might have thought it a good idea to honour a few treaties isn't really asking too much is it?

i like the tapered edge. but the camera of the iphone isnt even pointed at the laptop and the phone is chest high while the picture was taken at a low angle. i wonder how apple will keep the professional look while making it modern like the macbook air.
I am starting to think that most people will buy a new Macbook Pro/Macbook/iPhone 3G if it looked like anything.
All I ask is the magnetic latch. I'll settle for a current MacBook Pro without complaint, but I do love the magnetic latch on my MacBook.

All the rumors seem to point to the newer books coming out sometime this summer. As far as the x4500, I dont see how apple couldn't put it in, its part of the montivina platform which is released next month and if apple releases their next laptops without it then they would be using yesterdays technology and I cant see why any company would think thats a good idea
that's a pretty big assumption that Apple will refresh this summer...A lot of people on these boards hope for upgrades all the time..if I remember correctly, the chanting and speculating of a new MBP came just a few days after the latest refresh was announced. Apple is usually a late adopter, as long as Intel doesn't twist its arm..
Next mb/mbp upgrades in September/October at the earliest..
Apple's been using older tech in their computers for a while, its not surprising that they would continue.
