I created a new Focus and selected the AOD to be on and the screen stayed on last night when I tried it. Will try again another day to make sure that I wasn't just lucky!

I tried this again last night and most of the time it stayed on. It went off once, but I had touched it.

Everything was great last night. I had a focus on and set the AOD to be on like the last few times and it stayed on until 1.21 am. Why that time, I don't know!

My AOD keeps turning itself off. Started with 16.4. I have AOD set to turn off with DND. After about 24 hours, AOD turns off in settings and won't turn back on. Not sure if its a focus issue or iOS in general issue.

I think it has something to do with the time if I listen to something before midnight, it hardly does it, but after then, I regularly have problems.

Really hope the iOS 17 rumor about “more AOD settings” is true…would love a legit “ALWAYS ON” setting where the phone doesn’t attempt to learn your habits and the display actually does what it’s supposed to.

Yeah I totally agree because my iPhone battery is good enough to last all day with the AOD on. But if we think it won't last, we switch off the AOD option!

Do you have a bedtime and wake time set for sleep tracking?
No I don’t have sleep tracking setup or a wake time. Not sure if it’s related but I do have a nightly schedule for Do Not Disturb focus.

Haven’t seen AOD turn itself off after my previous post though.

standby mode will only work when charging, so if it does fix it it’s likely only when charging, but would be nice for someone on ios 17 beta to confirm

Just checked the iOS 17 thread……appears it still turns off even in standby mode!! You have to create some movement to wake screen like on Apple Watch in nightstand mode
