To answer the OP's question. The reason everyone here appears to be complaining is because lately the place is full of Android users and Android posts. It is not the Apple fans that are doing most of the complaining/hating lol.

I think it's a mix. From what I can tell, a lot of the "Android threads" stem from iOS users either tempted by, or making the switch to the SIII/Nexus.

the more people that hate, the more people that wont be there launch day, smaller queues = quicker to get my new iPhone.

As far as im concerned, keep on hating!

I never get why people camp outside for an iPhone. I love my iPhone 4S, but I'd rather camp out for a Galaxy s3 or HTC one X, before I sleep outside for an iPhone.

So the new iPhone is coming out and all I'm reading on the forum are people complaining about it. I need someone to put things into perspective for me because from what I can see:

I just don't get it...

Just remember the most important thing, all of the information you have read so far, is rumor and inuendo. We know absolutely nothing about what the iphone 5 is going to look like, or what features it may actually have.
Take a deep breath and wait for Apples announcement, when ever that may be.
Even though it is an iphone, it is just a phone after all.

Honestly, if the latest efforts are any indication (the new iPad, Macbook Pro/Air update), the most probable thing that will happen is that there won't really be much of a change as far as the design/form of the iPhone goes.

Thinner with a taller screen is likely it.

The problem is that the Galaxy S III has come out, and is basically everything people want from the next generation iPhone (large screen, LTE, amazing battery life, thin & sleek form factor, etc.), and people are realizing there is a smartphone world outside of Apple. Will the iPhone 6th generation sell well and be awesome? Of course. But it won't be better than the Galaxy S III.

So the new iPhone is coming out and all I'm reading on the forum are people complaining about it. I need someone to put things into perspective for me because from what I can see:

1. Brand new billet aluminum or steel unibody just like their laptop process (also, is there even another manufacturer that does this?) This is a strong possibility based on the leaks we have seen

2. A larger screen for more real estate, and no more video cropping Same response as above

3. LTE While I don't doubt we will get LTE, there really is no actual evidence of it coming. Furthermore, plenty of people outside the US likely won't see LTE during this phone's lifecycle. It's just not something everyone is going to be excited about.

4. Quad core A6 (most likely) There is no evidence of this either. Turth be told, I am not expecting this.

5. Improved speakers Zero evidence

6. Smaller proximity footprint on face from pics (good for white version) Don't know what this means, sorry)

7. Thinner I haven't seen any evidence of this. I saw a mockup, but mockups mean nothing, especially with what little we have seen thus far.

8. Larger battery We have seen one pic of the batteries. Curiously, the difference in capacity was negligible (we are talking a couple mAh here) based on what was printed on the battery that I saw a picture of

9. iOS 6 with long awaited turn by turn The 4S will have this as well, so this isn't exactly a feature to look forward to on the next iPhone. I would expect us to get SOME feature exlusive to the next iPhone though. That's how Apple rolls.

I'm just a little confused with what appears to be Apple creating a whole new manufacturing unibody process, larger screen, all new chips inside (not to mention probably starting from scratch on the custom silicone and organization for the internals), LTE, faster etc, and all I hear is complaints.

I just don't get it...

The complaints are simple. We had the iPhone, It was truly revolutionary. Then came the 3G, which was a pretty smal jump up. The 3GS gave us some better innards, and the 4 gave us "the modern smartphone". The 4S gave us Siri, and for many, that's basically all that was notable. People are waiting for something to knock their socks off. Not just something that comes from beefing up some hardware specs to the next notch.

Take the Haters with a grain of salt. Just remember that this is a school break. There are lots of socially awkward juveniles with raging hormones on MacRumors each day. They are nothing but little trolls who think they know everything, cluttering up a great site with their immaturity. It happens every year.

Everything should calm down when school starts again.
