Am I the only one that doesn't do texting?

I find it interesting that on a cellphone, minimal functionality must include at least phone calls and texting.. I haven't really got much of an opinion about texting, I just don't really use it. Do you guys?

Ever since my parents got their iPhone's and discovered the messages app, I think you are the only one who doesn't text. 😛

I don't really use it either. I just checked my usage and I've sent 5 texts this billing month (which resets in a couple of days). On the other hand, I know of people that send thousands! 😱

Edit: I should clarify. If you're talking about SMS, then yeah, 5 this month. If on the other hand you mean any sort of textual message (MSN, Google Talk, etc) then I'd probably go through thousands in a month. In this regard I use the phone as a replacement for messaging on my PC when I'm out or at work (although at work I use a keyboard so that I don't have to peck at the screen all day!)

The closest I come to texting, is answering emails from my phone (really rare, usually when I have stuff for sale on craigslist). I always assumed people use texting to contact family about small things (like heading home), or to locate people they are meeting in public (which I've used texting for!)

I don't text all that much. Maybe two or three times a week. Sometimes more, sometimes less. I don't really talk to people IRL. 😛

There is an option missing, several times a day. It's not necessarily once an hour, but every few hours I can have long conversations.

I prefer to call people when I have a lot of stuff to discuss, but for shorter things or unimportant conversations then text is fine.

I have a voice only cell phone. So no, I never text. But then again I'm a 60 year old man who still enjoys talking to people..
