upgraded to 6 from 5.. Thought I should have upgraded to the 5s instead..Yes the 5 and 5s are definitely easier to hold and use with one hand, but the look and how thin the iPhone 6 is just!! Love them both Lol

It's not just the bigger size; the back of the iPhone 6 is more smooth/slippery than that of the 4 or 5 series, making it more difficult to hold, hence the number of people recommending you buy a "grippy" case.

Although wouldn't it have been nice if Apple could have just used the same backing as they did for the prior model?

I've had my 6 for 3.5 weeks and I agree with the OP. I held a 5 and it feels better in hand.

Even more important to me, it feels much, much better in my pants pockets.

Am I the only one who misses the smaller size of their old iPhone?

I'm hoping they have a smaller iPhone coming out next year, the current ones are too big.

S variants don't introduce new case formats. But by 7 (two years), the 4 and 5 should be sold through enough to add a third size smaller model back in the mix.

I have huge hands and can hold my iPad mini one handed but prefer my 5s and will be waiting for the 7. I also, surprising like having two devices. A tiny one for my pocket and larger one for home. I can use one while the other charges or use them together for true multitasking.

3.5"?

And I completely agree with the OP. I actually went and left feedback on Apple's site asking for them to keep the 4" screen size and update it yearly along the newer phones.

The original iPhone onwards had a 3.5" screen.

I tend to agree that the forum factor in the 5 and 5s where excellent. The device fit perfectly in my hand.

But, after using my 6 and 6+ since launch day. There is no way I could go back to that tiny screen.

OP, go with a 6+ for about 13 days then swap it for a 6. It'll suddenly feel wonderfully small in hand (worked for me!)

Something tells me this will never happen just because of the simple fact that the iphone 6/6+ had such good feedback and units sold. Eventually the 3.5 and 4" screen will phase out and the new norm will be a bigger screen IMHO.

Nope. Bought a 6, returned it because it was defective. Realized I really didn't even feel bad or missed it. So I didn't get another one. Went back to my 5c.

Might get another 5s (Sold mine) though.

My wife still has the 5S. I had the 5 before the 6.

It feels nice in the hand, I dont really have an issue with the screen size. But its funny how it feels tiny now when it didn't before.

I would of stuck with my 5 but im on sprint and really needed the spark lte. Makes a big difference.

I used my wife's 5 briefly the other night, which is what I had before buying my Plus. Though I feel I've gotten used to the size of the Plus I was surprised by how nicely the 5 fit in my hand and how easy it was to use. I would say there was definitely a tradeoff going to the Plus but the benefits far outweigh any downside IMO.

I think that there should have been options with the same functions (like Apple Pay) in smaller sizes. I have become accustomed to the larger size (3 days in now), but I'm hesitant to sell my 5S.

----------

I've had every iPhone as well and to me the 4S felt right. That said I'd prefer my 6 plus as it takes the place of an iPad for me

That's what made me give in.

I don't use my iPad (2nd gen) anymore when out and about. I watch movies on it at home in the shower (LOL). The 6+ is what I'll use as a phablet to show my portfolio work. Day 1 = second-guessing my choice. Day 3 = loving it.

I've owned every iPhone model since they were launched in 2007, and I do love my 6, which I have had for just under two weeks now.

However... when I pick up and hold my 5S again, it just feels "right" and is more comfortable to use and hold. I don't have small hands, but I do use my phone with one-hand more frequently than I realized. The 6 never feels quite secure in my grip, and the slightly larger keys on the keyboard have slowed down my typing, because there's more distance for my thumbs to travel.

I'll continue using my 6, but if I'm completely honest with myself, I would much rather go back to the 5S. It makes me a bit sad, because I doubt Apple will ever go back to producing devices at the smaller sizes, and I feel like I might be the only one who feels this way.

Am I crazy and alone, or is there someone out there who agrees?
Crazy? No. Alone? Afraid so. Someone agree? A few, not many though.
If you like it better, use the 5s ;)

If the 5s had apple pay I'd own it and not this 6. That's the only benefit, to me, the only one. The 5 series was definitely easier to tote around and use as a phone.

After using an iPhone 6 and a 6+, I could never go back to the tiny screen on my 5S,no way
