Just wondering something. If you get a dropped call, can’t it be the fault of the service provider of the cell phone you are calling?

You can usually tell.

If the other person disappears and you keep saying "hello?" for 6 seconds before your phone hangs itself up...well then that was their phone's fault.

But if you're in the middle of a sentence and your phone goes "Beoop!" in your ear...well then that was your phone's fault.

I dont know if thats a true way of finding out who's phone line is at fault by who disconnects first.

I have been with Cingular/AT&T since 2004 and I have never been dissatisfied with their service/coverage. I'm always with 5 bars here in Long Island. Back in college, I lived in a newly built apartment complex on a further edge of campus and my suitemates who had Verizon and T-Mobile would always had to keep their phones by the window just to get signal, while I was able to roam around our apartments with no drops or decrease in signal. :)

I live in SoFla and have only had dropped calls when I had a Nokia N75 - tons of dropped calls in fact. No other phone I've had has had that problem, including my 3Gs. On my Verizon work phone (current BB Pearl), I have terrible coverage and the data is terribly slow. AT&T for me!

Hahhaha. Me too. I live in Naples and the service here is awesome. I moved from Ogden, Utah and the service was great there too. I think the only dropped calls i've ever had were in the basement of the place I work, but no one has service down there. Even if Verizon or Sprint got the iPhone, i'd stay with ATT. I get a 25% discount, keeping my unlimited plan, and have great service. I do hope it happens to other's that don't have good service can move on to greener pastures. The one thing I do want to say is that people need to stop acting like AT&T is unusable EVERYWHERE in the USA. San Fran and Manhattan aren't the whole country.

In Denver also, and never had a problem. The speed is very fast. Glad I can use my phone anywhere and data at the same time :)

I'm in Denver and am very happy with my AT&T service. I get very few dropped calls and coverage is fine for me.

I live in the Dayton, OH area and have always had really good reception and hardly ever have dropped calls.

The one exception is my in-laws house where they live in a bit of a valley. It's hard to get service there, but it's the same for all the cell providers.

I was in New York a month or so ago, and had some trouble getting a signal once in a while, but I didn't think it was that terrible there either.

I've been really happy with AT&T, and I probably wouldn't switch if the phone came out on Verizon.

I've never really had any complaints with AT&T service. I would say most of the connection problems I've ever had have been on the other persons end. I really do hope they put it on Verizon though, I will stick with AT&T but I'm so tired of hearing all the complaints about iPhone because it's only on AT&T. Would probably free up some of the network load as well as free up some of AT&T's data restriction and create competition for data services between the providers.

Here in Rockford, IL I have had no issues either. Even when I drive outside the city between some more rural areas I always have good signal strength and 3G coverage most of the time. Dropped calls are few and far between.

My experience was exactly the opposite with Verizon though. Poor signal even in my house, dropped calls in the same areas where AT&T was great.

I switched for about 10 days because I was excited about the Palm Pre Plus from VZW with the free tethering that they were running in May. Switched back since I couldn't use it very well as a phone.

I've never had any big issues with AT&T. I've been with them since 2005 and have only had some minor annoyances with dropped calls. To me dropped calls are not a big deal. I just redial the person and pick up where I left off. The dropped calls have gotten fewer and farther between since 2005. Lately I cannot remember the last time I had a dropped call.

My data speed has always been very fast and the Internet works every time I have needed it to. So not really much to complain about.

I never have problems with AT&T - I believe their customer service is awesome and I think that their service is excellent (except for the dropped calls situation)

I love that Apple chose AT&T.

In the Santa Barbara area of California, I almost always have 5 bars, and perfect connection. I even work in a led lined vault, and still get 3-5 bars in there. AT&T has always been great here, and 3G is blazing fast. It always use to confuse me when people would complain about AT&T, but after taking a few trips to some of the weaker coverage areas, I understand their pain, just glad I don't share it.
