What gimicky hardware has Microsoft made on a regular basis? I would also question your comment referring to Amazon too for some of their products.
Surface.
Touch on an OS that was never designed for touch.

A robot by Amazon (or Alphabet or Facebook)? It's dystopian. No. Waythat robot is probably the most real life dystopian thing I've ever seen. no. way. not. ever.
Never gonna happen. At this point you'll be better off with a cheap RasperryPi with Homebridge and the Ring plugin.Still waiting for Homekit support for my ring alarm…

Right! Wow! What employees at Amazon thought this was a good idea?!Totally agree - You couldn't pay me to put Amazon tracking junk all over my house.
How about the Ring camera that can fly all over your house on its own and look around?
Remember - Ring -- the company that is working hand in hand with police departments to allow/enable them to use your camera when they want.
HELL.
NO.
Good luck with that! The Astro Robot looks epic. I would totally go for this as I have Ring cameras already.
I wish Apple would try this level of creativity and innovation.
That’s where two of these ideas were lifted fromholy crap, we are the Jetsons.
totally agree. as much as i'm not interested in most of this stuff at least they're doing something and trying to innovate. when apples biggest product announcement of the season is a refreshed iPad mini ya know innovation is out the window.Great! Competition is good and all these products make Apple look lazy and conservative.
(And yes this one of those annoying all Apple guy talking...)
You left out [ sarcasm ] and [ /sarcasm ]The Astro Robot looks epic. I would totally go for this as I have Ring cameras already.

The first episode in season 2 is pretty much exactly about this kind of robot.Love, Death and [Amazon] Robots
Remember Windows still uses the same registry from 1992 Windows 3.1. It is a huge issue that makes it inherently unstable. I remember a discussion with a Microsoft support level 2 agent who had to take me into it for a repair when I had a work issue. He commented that it was a house of cards and apologized for having to take me so deep into it. One mistake in the wrong place = Disaster. Remember every program you install makes changes to it over and over.Really? Is that despite the fact Windows was changed into an official touch interface from Windows 8, and it has been used as a touch interface in specific devices for several generations before that.
Sorry but I don't think you could be any more wrong, and at least one manufacture has the sense to provide an OS able to make full use of the powerful hardware it charges you for. The iPad Pro is certainly incapable of doing so.
At version 1.0, I’d call it Spacely, because it’s gonna get FIRED..holy crap, we are the Jetsons.
Small house robots have a HUGE potential, especially for the disabled. It would be really nice if I could buy something that does the things that are hard (or impossible) for me to do.that robot is probably the most real life dystopian thing I've ever seen. no. way. not. ever.
We finally have iRobot timesyup - it all makes me want to vomit
I can't believe this is where we are at (and heading)
Don't raise your hopes on that. The day I learned that Amazon bought Ring, HomeKit support is out the window. With their own monitoring plan, I don't see a reason for them to add HomeKit support.Still waiting for Homekit support for my ring alarm…
