amazon.com ship dates

I ordered a 2.0 Ghz from Amazon on the 7th of Feb. I am emailed them two days ago asking when they plan to ship it as the order said the 12th of April. They replied back saying that was still the date.
Can anyone provide an order number or screenshot please so I am go back to Amazon and see what they are playing at?

Pre Ordering seems worthless
Well, my order from Jan. 29th still show no update to the March 31st ship date (and no credit card activity) so I bit the bullet this morning and placed a second order for the same model (2.0) with a ship date of tomorrow (Mar. 10th).
I will probably try to call Amazon today before I cancel the original order just to make sure there is no new information that hasn't been updated online but I doubt this is the case since the CSR's seem to know less than what the website even shows.
This whole pre-ordering process has been extremely dissapointing.

Notebook MA464LL/A will be released on March 20, 2006.
Once this item has been released and we receive it, we will be able to ship it to you. It is not uncommon for there to be a delay of several weeks between the release and distribution of a new item.
When your order is shipped, you should receive an e-mail message confirming the date, contents, and method of your shipment. As per our standard policy, we do not charge you for items until they enter the shipping process, so you will not be charged for this item until it is available and we have shipped it to you.

My account status has been in the "shipping soon" status for two days now. I'll believe that it's shipping when it says so...
Now I can't even cancel it and order from a vendor who actually has it in stock and ready to sell!Something is definitely off at Amazon.com

You went from March 14-15 to today? Congrats man! Did you choose 1-day shipping? Curious, cause mine says March 13th and I ordered overnight so maybe there's some chance they'll surprise me today too!

Ok, this is weird or rather irritating.
How come my 1.83 that was ordered on January 18 has an estimated shipping date of March 20 and has not changed while yours that was ordered a day after mine has not only a better shipping date but has also been expedited.
Is yours really the 1.83 (previously 1.67) or is it the 2.0 (ordered as 1.83)?

When I checked Amazon today it turns out my order now says "being processed" and my dshipping date has changed to today with estimaed delivery for the 14!
Ok, how about a recommendation to add 0.5 or 1 gig memory for this little puppy. Maximize performance and bettery life.

Mine was 1.67, recieved the email from amazon on Feb.14 about the CPU change, and it went into Shipping Soon yesterday, with delivery estimate March 14. Given that I have chosen Two Day shipping, the math tells me that it should indeed ship today....
