amazon.com ship dates

If your product ships Monday, I wouldn't be surprised if you don't see something until very late Monday night going into Tuesday morning. I had it happen with my Macs from them before. About 3am I'd get shipment notification, but then I would see it actually shipped from them earlier the day before (well a few hours before which was the day before).

I'm in the same situation as you. I reordered mine last night and I just assume nothing was going on Sundays at Amazon and the status will change tomorrow morning.

Usually, when it says "Shipping soon," there is a "hold" placed on your CC to ensure the funds are available. So although the charge won't appear (unless your bank shows pending charges), you should notice your available credit is less.

Called the CC company and so far the only charge they've gotten from Amazon is the one dollar charge they do to establish that you have a valid account (this is regular procedure for Amazon) and that was way early this morning. After the account is validated, then you get charged the full amount of purchase (i.e. "shipping soon" stage). So, hopefully status will be changing soon-it's a bit too close for my comfort zone being that it's supposed to ship tomorrow.
Actually, seeing that the next ship date is March (from Apple) or April (next Amazon ship date estimate), I'll be happy if it just gets delivered this week, period!

Hang in there. It still may charge later tonight. Plenty of time yet before shipping out tomorrow. Keep your fingers crossed.

That's good to hear. The interesting thing about amazon.com, if you've ever read any of the numerous investigative articles about them; is that they're so large in volume that their DCs all have a purpose built depot for each UPS, Fedex, and the USPS, with sorting facilities on the warehouse.
In other words, the amazon.com distro center IS a UPS sorting facility.
Mine did not ship yet but was next day delivery so may be different. interesting that they have sorting facilities right in their warehouse.psycho- said:

Trying to think positive, but this is all too familiar to me.
Starting to get a little
It's one thing if it ships out a day or two late, quite another if the ordering process got botched up yet again, and it sits there for several days-these are in such supply at this point, I just worry that those of us who haven't even progressed to the shipping soon stage, could get passed over. And calling Amazon does little good as most of the CSR's don't even realize that they got a shipment in-I still don't understand why the status is still "not yet released" on their website at this point.
I really love Amazon, most of the time, they are a pleasure to do business with, but they have dropped the ball several times this last year in situations like this.
