So will this be the Tuesday announcement or do we have to wait an extra day? If they still start at $499 for edu, I will most likely pre-order as soon as possible.

I would suspect even if it was for Wednesday announcement/release, some late-night calls are revising that plan.

One of these little puppies with M4 Pro 14-core and 64GB RAM hooked up to a Studio Display would make for a killer little workstation for design, photography, video and coding etc.

I'm considering my next purchase to be a Mac Studio with M4 Max and ditch the 16" MBP. And then run an M4 Air or 14" M4 Pro as my portable.
I just wish the GPU’s could keep up with current gen Nvidia. Would make things like After Effects more enjoyable on M Series chips.

Power LED indicator - lights up when the Mac is on
You can't see the power light on any Macs anymore when they are turned off. It's not the '80s, they don't use 3mm LEDs behind embedded lenses... as much as that might be a cool retro style.

The only thing I can think of is maybe Apple put a high quality microphone there for Apple Intelligence, and they will add one to the Mac Studio too when it gets refreshed. Either that or it really is a combo headphone/microphone jack for the same reason, but that does not seem like something Apple would do anymore.

What’s that black dot on the right side? A headphone jack?
Could be an IR receiver.
The AppleTV doesn't even use IR, it's bluetooth.

We're talking about a new Mac Mini here. Not a new Apple TV.

And the Apple TV does have an IR receiver. See:

Got my finger on my mouse ready to refresh the Apple Store page. ;-)

A "regular" M4 Mac Mini with 32 GB of RAM and a 1 TB SSD, I'm guessing it'd cost around $1400. Still $500 less than the M2 Pro-equipped Mac Mini I was eyeing with the same RAM and SSD amounts! I'm really looking forward to this!

How can there still be management at Apple thinking it's a good idea to give out information to other companies like Amazon?

Apple managed to prevent dumb leaks on their own site, but now let's give everything to Amazon, they're sure to keep it under wraps.

Isn’t the black smudge on the right too big to be a headphone jack? It almost looks like that’s a USB port, and the other two black smudges on the left are asymmetrical, and therefore couldn’t be two USB ports. Which flies in the face of the rumors, and is more likely just a sign that staring at tiny, low-res, blurry photos can make you see things that aren’t there.🧐

A nice, robust, leak. This will help me prepare.

Mac Teensy.

Mostly because the Ultra has the worst cost-benefit ratio for Apple. Low volume, high engineering cost. So they prioritize it the least.

Ugg. They might be thinking this way, but it is short sighted. The stuff your high end products can do have a big impact on people's choices to go Mac instead of PC. Being always behind on the high end suggests that the Mac platform has a limited future, and will frustrate buyers.
