Amazon prime is really something. It doesn't matter how much the item weighs, it's still $4.

To put this in perspective, Amazon sells just about everything -literally, and that includes really BIG and heavy stuff :D

You get overnight for 60lb furniture for $4? (actually, the free 2nd day is but understandable, but overnight?. I don't even want to think about what that would cost out of the pocket with UPS. Certainly close to the cost of the item, and for cheap heavy stuff, many times the cost of it :D )

The mind boggles

Well that sucks. I ordered one the other day from MacMall for $1126. Supposedly they were going to get them in today to ship. Just got an email that they *may* get them in on 8/1.

Last time I order from them. Supposedly they are a good retailer, but this experience for me didn't bear that out.

I'm a Prime with Amazon and just tried to snap this up now, but they are back to 1199. Oh well.

Will sit on my MacMall order and see if Amazon drops it again before then.

That's the base 11" which is out of stock now. The 11"/128/4GB is available, but back at the 1199 price.

Yeah, this is a bummer. I saw the lowered price this morning. Didn't pull the trigger because I was going to wait for my CC billing cycle to start over again in a couple of days. Now it's back to normal price with a limited quantity and no longer available for Prime shipping... boo.

Amazon, LLC ran out. I think you're seeing one of Amazon's other merchants, like J&R selling that MBA at $1199.

It's sad that my edu discount costs more to use in store than ordering it on amazon without edu discount but tax free...Is the 100 dollar app card worth it? Ay must have expensive apps out there?

For those still looking for a deal on Amazon. I say wait a couple weeks if you can. Amazon usually puts computers on sale for back to school shoppers. Mights be worth it if you really want to save money on an Air.

What sort of sales do they usually have? The amazon distributor is directly from apple

Popped up for this price again this morning for a few minutes, had a ship date of the 29th. Tempted, but I think I'm going to hold out for a 13 if anything... I think they'll probably put it up with a similar discount once back in stock.

Put the order in for the 13" from amazon. I did yesterday and it will be here Friday. :)

Gone again at that price. It was advertised at the lower price this morning stating they'd be back in stock on 7/29 shipping from Amazon. If you go to their site now, Amazon only has them in stock from some seller in Hong Kong. Needless to say there's no Prime shipping or anything and you'll have to pay $1400.

when i placed my order it was $1,194.00 and now it's $1,139.99 but order hasn't shipped yet...you think they will adjust the price for me or i have to contact them?

how to get the difference back?

They're back in stock for those who missed them!

Awesome! Thanks! I was actually able to get one at this price at 3PM PST. It won't ship til 7/29 when they get them, but at least they say they will get them in that date (vs. MacMall who wasnt sure if they would get more on 8/1) and also got the next-day shipping for $4 on Prime. Plus, its Amazon, I know they are reliable.

It seems that Amazon direct is selling them at that price. But when they run out of allocation, it goes to the other suppliers (e.g. J&R Music World) who are selling at the normal price and don't ship Prime.

They "may" manually adjust the price. However, as when I got my MacBook Pro. The price had dropped over $100.

I did a live chat and they adjusted the price without me even hardly asking. Regardless if they charged you or not. When you contact them they'll credit you the difference.

You also get a MASSIVE discount on applecare, however you could get that after the fact.
