To be honest I only buy from Amazon. And when I had a problem with the product (one time only) I quickly was refunded with an apology. They are my first option when I purchase stuff online. And the locker delivery system is brilliant.

The thing about Amazon is people have vastly different experiences depending on how they use it, and you can see that in the comments here. For some its a competitor to ebay (both for buying and selling). I find that people who occasionally use Amazon, and either don't know the difference between Amazon and third-party sellers or are looking for obscure items, often have a lot of complaints over poor quality or slow delivery.

Other people (like my family) use Amazon as a catch-all retail store, like a gigantic Target I suppose. We generally buy brand-name items or Amazon-branded items and only purchase Prime eligible items sold by Amazon, accounting for well over a hundred orders a year. I can't remember the last time I needed to contact customer service because there's never an issue. Need an Anker charger delivered today? Amazon's got it covered. Need a custom printed T-shirt with a funny slogan? Eh, don't expect perfect service...

this is only for the United States in europe they have not even heard about amazon
Apart from operating and shipping to Europe, yeah.

You know Amazon have a fulfilment centre in every major European country, right? Not to mention they have a European headquarters in Luxembourg.
Chap may be from Lichtenstein.

I live in Ontario, Canada and Amazon Prime has no value. Everything shows up in less than two days regardless of shipping speed, and I have no interest in their music or video products.

I’ve had to pay for many returns, Prime member or not. I’ve also received several damaged products.

I’ve been less of fan lately.

I disagree with this completely. Apple focuses on the Teen and College markets, which are style, fashion, and image focused. This will keep them at the top for a while. At some point Apple's disregard for cost, technology and reliability will cause them to fall out of favor. Once that happens, it will be a free fall because Apple does not have any other base to fall back on, like in the past.

Now with that said, the new Mac Pro might start recreating that base, provided the new Mac Pro does not have the problems that other recent technology releases have, is upgraded more often, and a middle ground Mac is released between the mini and the Mac Pro.

I am not holding my breath, because Apple management's DNA for good products has gone out the door (outside of the iPhone and a heavy image focus).
I think that Apple may experience a fall from grace as well. Maybe their pivot to services will go well.

As far as the Mac Pro recreating the base, that's a bit of a stretch given the steep price. Yes, it's a lot of computer for the money, other than the base model. But why do you think professional grade hardware would translate to more base. Apple has transitioned to a consumer electronics company and is focusing on trying to build services. The Mac Pro is none of that.

For me Amazon is the lowest of the low for online sales. They can do a ton of volume but the quality sucks, customer service is a nightmare and all the Amazon branded products are cheap junk.
If you used Amazon as much as others, I believe your opinion would change. I use them personally and for my business every single day. Are they flawless? No, but nearly every single customer service issue has been resolved quickly and fairly in my opinion. They heavily favor the customer in most disputes which works both for and against me since I probably buy about $250k from them every year and sell about $250k of my own products on there every year.

Amazon branded products are hit and miss. They pick those based on manufacturers ability to deliver and stock regularly. The quality of those products are always secondary to the cost and stock but I also find that quality matters little for cheap products when most things are made in China anyway.

I like to use them to get an idea of the kind of products that exist and then try to find a higher quality equivalent from other merchants, locally, when I get the inkling that some of their product categories are swamped by cheap knockoff crap.

I live in a rural area so they do save me some wear and tear on my truck by delivering some very basic things I’d need to make a special trip for, like a can opener. My house is on their route anyway so I believe I am saving on traffic congestion and wear and tear on the roads using them. I also get canned pet food delivered because it’s too heavy for me to wrangle on my own.

But yeah there’s things like jewelry that I prefer to see in person. They are just flooded with bubblegum machine quality jewelry.

Quite the opposite in my experience, but to each their own

Big shout out to all the Amazon employees working in terrible conditions without whom none of this would be possible
A warehouse job never really has been a cushy one...whats changed?

Let’s see the list.
Amazon: Good customer service, poor working condition.
Apple: Same as Amazon but tack on outrageous prices.
Google: One of the most evil company in the face of Earth.
Microsoft: Another greedy company that tries to rip people off with the garbage subscription model.
Visa: Middleman that hurts retailers and rip off customers.
Failbook: Quadrillion times worse than Google.
Alibaba: Another communist controlled company from mainland China. Don’t need to discuss this any further.
Tencent: Never heard of them.
McDonald’s: Evil company making people unhealthy.
AT&T: Same as Apple minus the customer service.

No wonder they are “valuable” brands.

Amazon brand value change between 2018 and 2019 is just NUTS at 52%.
Do you consider that calculation based on tangible facts? Apple is far more profitable than Amazon or any company on this list, as an example.

This is largely subjective.

People's lifestyle choices make them unhealthy.

Not all warehouse workers have to piss in bottles in order to meet their quota.

I like Amazon, but warehouse employees are treated like slaves. Amazon have enough money to treat their employees better.
