Just caught up. I've read the comic up through the Negan War. I was surprised in the show how fast they Jumped into it. I also remember more of a slow burn where Negan gets the advantage in Alexandria, before these types of hostilities take place. But I figure they are just adjusting the tempo. That is a long sequence in the comic with ups and downs and deaths of major characters. And I wonder if there will be a guy with a tiger. :)

Of note it was interesting how they put the decision of war on Rick, while the book through the slow burn, and being in a position of disadvantage, it was forced upon them, not a preemptive decision on Rick's part.

Abraham seems to be going through something. I can actually visualize how some people would get tired of living in the zombie apocalypse. And I'm liking Father Stokes these days.

I'm guessing no on tiger dude, just looks too expensive to pull off week after week. It'll probably be a Deanna like situation where they have the a similar character, but with a gender/race or animal companion shift.

Just finished watching tonight's episode on DVR and now I'm watching Talking Dead. It was a very interesting character development story with more depth added to Carol and Maggie. A well done episode.

Loved the inner struggles with Carol. Didn't understand why Maggie's interrogator 'Chelle left Maggie in the room because when we last saw them they were at a standstill after their "one of us is going to die today but it's not going to be me" conversation. Clearly a weak point of all of this mini Saviors crew, always keep eyes on those you hold captive, even Rick's crew did the same with Jesus and he pulled a Houdini.

Only unanswered questions for me would be:

1) Did Maggie get kneed in the stomach by 'Chelle in the hallway fight scene? This could be an interesting plot twist if so.
2) It probably has no significance but Paula called it about Rick & Co tracking them, but did Rick & Company see the now toasty-kill-room Saviors arrive? Were they just camped outside calculating their moves?

The sneak peak for next week's episode seemed like some eerie foreshadowing on Daryl's behalf. He's now seeing the aftermath of decision not to kill Dwight upon first encounter.

Interesting enough it seems Daryl thinks more like visceral Carol, but Carol seems like she's slowly being pulled to a mindset like that of Morgan.

When Paula and Molls leave Carol, Paula says "We've got to get ready. Pull 'Chelle out so she doesn't get stuck in a fight."

You can read a lot more into that than was said, but it was explained.

While it was great character development, and all the women in the episode were amazing...it was too much for a single episode. Very slow, very little action, no forward momentum. There was almost no story line point to the episode.

I beg to differ with that opinion. We learned a lot more about the Saviors than we knew last week.

The whole episode had to do with the central conflict of the season. Kill or don't kill. Carol vs Morgan. The consequences of leaving threats alive. Morgan and the Wolf (twice) and Darryl and Dwight, Carl and Ron...

I have a bad feeling it's all leading up to Carol taking Glenn's place when we meet Negan and Lucille

Oh yea I got that part and took it for what it was. It just seemed like a thing to do without common sense, like tie up loose ends. The Walking Dead is infamous for showing how one decision can come back to bite a character in the *ss. Not that I was rooting for the Saviors, but it seemed too easy for 'Chelle to just reencounter Maggie & Carol in the corridor, then get offed easily. Like 'Chelle and Paula should have been together after Molly got bitten then killed by Maggie.

I agree, I thought this episode was really good. It also re-enforced how the Saviors feel about Negan! "I am Negan!" seemed to be the running line for all of them.

Regarding your spoiler tag, I hope not! There is part of me that doesn't want any of them to go. But then the other part of me, says do not screw this one up. Leave it like the book!

Maybe when the real Negan stands up, Rick is...

put in a position and has to choose who dies, Glenn or Carol. With much of the story starting to revolve around her and her changing thought process, maybe this is the end of her arc. She now understands what Morgan means by "All Life is Precious" and understands that Glenn should live to be there for the baby. She doesn't have anything else to live for but only to survive since she lost her husband and daughter. Unless she wants to stick around for more of Tobin's Bisquick

Finally got a chance to watch. Enjoyed it. Like the rest of this season, for the most part, lots more action and suspense. Didn't think they could keep this pace up every ep but they have and kept the stories cohesive and deep without devolving into a serial action show. Like some of you others, I think Carol's time is short. Just the feeling I'm getting from watching.

I'm really hoping not as I've really grown to love carol .

But with that said I do agree with carols time may be coming , she will be a huge loss to the troop if she does .

When she was purged from the group by Rick, they seemed to do fine without...however would they have escaped Terminus without her aide, not likely. I'm not sure what else could be added to her arc, other than a budding romance with Tobin...but he's probably about to bite the bullet too by being a casualty of war. Maybe another moral compass for the group perhaps?

The TV WD Carol has become a very pragmatic killer when in her view killing needs to be accomplished. I disagreed with her murders at the prison, but completely agreed with her in Alexandria regarding her physical tussel with Morgan and the little girl at the cabin, within the context of survival morality. It can be debated, and the debate is, can you afford to take on the liability? How should the person who can't be a team player be treated? Expulsion or death seem to be the options.

Death by whom though? Surely I don't think anyone in the group should be author of someone else's life, even if your actions cause the death of someone else (unintentional, not by act of deceit, etc.). In the zombie apocalypse even if someone feels they are making the best decision by killing someone that has not turned who has not committed attempted murder, hurt harm or danger of someone else in the group, I still think that is unacceptable. Expulsion is the only option.

Carol couldn't kill Morgan, even though I'm sure she probably wanted to initially. What if Rick killed Carol after burning Karen and David at the prison? Would it have been justified?

Even at Alexandria now, I don't think Rick would kill Morgan just for his opposition or thought process, he'd exile him.

Going to be interesting how things turn out with only a few episodes left...Carol has begun to crack on her ideology while Morgan still seems pretty steadfast on his "all life is precious" ideology.

That's the philosophical interest of discussing survival morality. :) If you have someone who is clearly dangerous as the Wolves in Alexandria, expulsion is not the answer. Morgan's problem is that he has adopted a blanket standard which while noble puts lives at risk. With protecting life, you can be proactive or reactive. Some would argue reactive is too late when there is a clear threat such as a dangerous and unrepentant individual.

Carol's problem is that she takes unilateral action without consideration of the group, and she leans towards the harsh unforgiving side.

Lizzie (the little girl) is a more disturbing and difficult case. My opinion is that Carol was wrong to make this decision on her own, but should have brought it to the group. I'm a little foggy on the exact details if the girl was delusional, mentally ill, or just a sociopathic murderer.

Burning the women was clearly out of bounds and resulted in her expulsion. Using her own standard, Rick could have chosen to execute her. My impression because of her contributions, Rick chose the lesser punishment.

"Twice As Far" should have been titled "BALLs"

I liked how Denise's arc came to a close, finally coming to realization of her inner strengths. How did she not see her end coming?

Eugene grew a pair AND tasted some.

Abraham showed feeling/emotion? It seemed as if Eugene hurt his feelings. Surprisingly enough, he still poured on the charm in the end AND got the girl for the swirl.

With Toasty Dwight returning and Carol leaving, these are sure to shake things up with the imminent threat looming.

The foundation continues to be laid for what is making to be a great season finale!!

The only question is how much time has passed since their attack on one of the Saviors' base? I get that day to day operations at Alexandria must continue, but they seem to wander around with rogue supply runs a little naive without worry about Negan & Co.

We're right on track with issue #98 for #100 and Negan to end the season. Lots of stuff straight from the book, but shows that they're really not afraid to mix it up a bit. Eugene biting D and someone dying mid sentence with a crossbow bolt to the eye.

I like that we got to see a bit of Dwight before we met him this week. I hope his arc is similar to what happens in the book.

Carol's sudden departure after her tour de force last week makes me think that she will be the one to be felled by Negan in the finale, but since they swapped Denise for Abraham.

This rumor http://www.huffingtonpost.com/entry/the-walking-dead-twist_us_56e608c8e4b065e2e3d65167 has me really worried though. The future story would suffer a lot without that character.
