Since October 2019 between 20,000 – 52,000 have died from the Flu. BUT LETS CREATE MASSIVE PANIC AND HYSTERIA ABOUT CORONAVIRUS!!!! Such a joke... all politics and if you don't think so, reevaluate yourself.

The flu virus usually dies after 2 days on hard surfaces. The COVID-19 virus survives 9 days, so it is easier to come into contact with a live version of it. The regular flu kills 0.1% of people infected. COVID-19 kills 2.0 - 3.4% of people infected, which is 20 to 34 TIMES more deadly. If a normal flu season kills 20,000 people in the U.S., the COVID-19 virus would kill at least 20 times that amount, so 400,000 people. With the numbers you provided, and the real world numbers being seen with COVID-19, the number of Americans dying could be 1,040,000 to 1,768,000. Also it has to been taken into account how many people will be SERIOUSLY ill and need hospitalization to survive. You don't know if those dead or seriously ill will be you or a family member. Your demise could end up just a footnote in the history of the world pandemic of 2020. People are wise to be taking serious precautions.

Do you wash your keys, credit card etc. ?
Actually, yes... Well, not the credit cards, however, that's not a bad idea -- though I don't touch them very often as I'm not an avid shopper.

I do also routinely wipe off (using an isopropyl alcohol mixture or cleaning wipes when acceptable) my iDevices, remotes, lanyard (for keys), light and other switches, computer keyboards, mice, touchpads, and palmrests as well as drawer, faucet, closet doorknobs and handles, door edges (because a person doesn't always grasp using the handle/knob).

Why? Mostly due to the buildup of skin oils that cause surfaces to feel grimy but indeed additionally because removing transferred materials (bio and not) is a sensible method to reduce the spread of bacteria, etc.
Don't worry - nobody has any wipes in stock anywhere anyway!
And it's with this I've had a brief laugh and head shake. People are gross until they're at a notable risk of a potentially fatal disease. In other words, most people should (or need to?) be cleanlier on a regular basis.

Can I use my Target store brand disinfecting wipe or Apple only approved Clorox branded ones? It won’t take long for them to sell Clorox wipes at Apple Stores for $49.99/bottle.

Since we don't have a vaccine for this thing, the whole idea is to put in preventative measures to keep another Wuhan-level outbreak from happening. Is the media over-hyping it? Yes. Is it something serious that we should be paying attention to? Also yes.

If you think it's no big deal because of political reasons, reevaluate yourself.

Interesting. I could not see that quote on the linked Apple page on my Mac using Safari, Chrome or Firefox.. However, I could see it when using my iPhone.

I bought a Phonesoap and Homesoap machine, cleans everything from iphones, keys, controllers, cords, wallets, ipads, etc

I've had one for a while. Haven't been impressed with the construction because half the time it doesn't come on when I close the lid. I have been using it a lot recently though.

Interesting, you have good data to support influenza, do you have good data to support your opinion on Corona? Shall we re-convene in a year when you will have more data and see how the two (flu and covid19) compare then? Meantime, take deep breaths, avoid contact and wash your hands well and often. I wish I could help you more but that's all that is currently known. Oh, and avoid cruise ships.

Yeah. People on here are cracking me up. Pretending this is the plague or a zombie apocalypse or something. lol. A few people have died, big deal. There are many far more realistic threats, but yeah, lets pretend a virus that has killed a few thousand people out of over 7 billion is a big deal.

It's killed a few thousand out of only about 100 thousand infected. If 7 billion were infected, at this rate, over 150M would be dead. Over 6M dead in the USA. So take this seriously and please help stop spreading it.

Stuff like this is a reason I’m a little excited for a portless-100% waterproof iPhone.
Imagine when washing devices in the sink with warm water and soap becomes the new norm.

Use of unauthorized brand of cleaner will invalidate your warranty. There is a detector on the iPhone that does a chemical analysis of any cleaner you might use and compares it to the profiles of approved cleaning agents. Apple can tell!

And lets not forget the other million things we touch each day: door knobs, car doors, steering wheels, bed sheets, tooth brushes, basketballs, shoes, keyboards, mice, flash drives, and on and on. Should we let the media scare us into a hermetically sealed bubble; one per person please.

I really wish people would passing this around.

You think you're being smart, when you're really not. The coronavirus has existed for approximately three months.

The flu doesn't have between a 2 and 5% mortality rate. The flu's mortality rate is around 0.1%. The coronavirus has been closer to 5% here in America, largely due to Washington.
Largely due to Washington? LMAO!
