Would like to see Speedball II: Brutal Deluxe and M.U.L.E, but neither of these are Amiga brand games.

Gods; Xenon 2; Cadaver; Magic Pockets; Chaos Engine I would love to get up to date ios7 versions along with Blood Money. I don't know who would have the rights to the Bitmap Brothers Games and BM is with Psygnosis. :(

More games ....

Pinball Dreams and Pinball Fantasies are on the App Store at least.

Heck, the first 2 on your list alone, would be a huge success. Gods and Xenon2 ? Now, those I would buy. I could also suggest (since Shadow Of the Beast will not happen due to IR), the Wrath Of The Demon, which also was a 2D multi-parallax scrolling game.

I'm glad someone else is willing to give props to Cadaver around here. It and Solstice were the two games that made me fall in love with isometric games.

...though I recently played through them both about a year ago, and despite the huge nostalgia rush, I found them both to be nigh unplayable. It's funny how much more forgiving we were back then.

Best thread ever! For the best computer ever!

And what about Dragon's Lair? I think that the only computer capable enough to run that game was the Amiga. I remember the arcade version that used a laser disc for its video sequences. Amazing technology for the day.

And what about Dragon's Lair?

It was one of the first games released for the iPad.

I remember watching a friend buy this and Space Ace for his old 386. They both came on a huge stack of floppies that took forever to install, and it didn't even cover a quarter of the entire game. But it didn't matter. It was Dragon's Lair and Space Ace...AT HOME!

So not only were we more forgiving back in the day, but we were also easily impressed. :p

Very exited!

It must be a generational thing. I remember buying and upgrading an Amiga 500, intending to learn C programming on it back in the day!

I got sucked into the vortex of addictive games :

I loved 'Fiendish Freddy Big Top of Fun', Monty Python's Flying Circus, Stunt Car Racer (which others have mentioned)

Hmm...I remember, though, a more interesting arcade version of the dragon's lair 1 & 2 released for the 8-bit machines, that it was completely controlled by the player (it was not an interactive movie). It had several levels, all of them a piece of art in design, and it was very difficult. Not sure if it ever made it to Amiga, though.

Funny when I hear Amiga the only software that comes to mind is Video Toaster.
Now if we are talking porting old games, why can't someone port the DOS/Windows shooter ROTT?
That game had the best gameplay of any FPS years before Quake or Doom.
And it was funny.

There was a Commodore 64 version of Dragon's Lair I had. It was okay but hard. I heard the Xbox and GameCube version had levels that Dirk can go anywhere he wanted. The actual animated version is already out for iPad and I got the SEGA CD version of it way back in the old days.

A classic.

I just have one ting to say :-

Giana Sisters

Hate to say this but i played both the Amiga version and the iOS version (HD) and I really have to say the iOS version is way better than the Amiga one by far...

More levels, better graphics.. obviously, and more challenging worlds

*saying goodbye to this one* but like so many remakes, the switch has sold me.. Sorry Amiga... Though i still have Cloanto.....

Although two games i wouldn't mind on iOS... Heretic or Hired Guns.

DPaint..still the greatest!

I would like to see Deluxe Paint and Deluxe Video ported too. Lemmings is a must. Arctic Fox and Larry Bird vs Dr. J would be good but I think most people won't even remember those existed.

YES YES YES...please ...I want DeLuxe Paint SOOOOOOO bad! I became a very successful artist and fashion designer thanks in a great part to the Amiga and DPaint. :D

I may have to dust off my Amiga 500 or 1200...getting all nostalgic.

Because the graphics were limited, developers really had to concentrate on good gameplay resulting (in my opinion) some of the best games ever.

I actually believe that some games were an eduction, I spent ages working out monkey island and Indiana jones and the fate of Atlantis. I loved it, despite the fact I had to negotiate 14 disks or do. I also couldn't wait for my birthday to get IJFOA and ended up copying the discs and then the 'security disc' thing by hand, drawing the pictures etc, so I could start the game! (I did eventually get a genuine one).

I enjoyed rainbow islands too! Great thread!

They don´t make them like that anymore :(

Psst...if you guys love Amiga, check out Cinemaware's new Kickstarter campaign for their "Wings" remake...also on Steam Greenlight...

Hopefully they'll add iOS gamepad support when it comes to pass.

I missed this one. I'll bet it doesn't happen this way!
Until then I've got the only licensed Kickstart ROM for iOS :p

Just because you have a bunch of game licensing (which I'll bet is crap anyway),
doesn't mean you get Kickstart licensing , and the GPL mess sorted out tomorrow (which UAE is).

----------

Turrican was almost certainly used for testing UAE right from the start
because the game was provided to it's author.

It's a shame even if an emulator did come about for iOS,
Turrican requires a custom control scheme for touch screens.
It's a shame this is the only time you'll see it :D

It isn't even agreed who owns the IP for Turrican,
let alone a third party trying to arrange licensing for an iOS release.

Turrican is my favorite video game of all time, and I have it on my Windows emulator WinUAE. The soundtrack is amazing and the graphics were incredible for the times. The gameplay is like nothing before or since!
